  1. Hi guys. A buddy and I are fitting an Airlocker in his defender 200tdi (late model) with 24 spline shafts. And I'm about to order some bearings for the diff. But I'm a bit confused. It says on Lrseries.com that the bearings are the same on series from 48 and on as on all defenders, but we all know there not! So I found this under Discovery: http://www.lrseries.com/shop/product/listi...AL-BEARING.html Will these fit? Thanks very much in advance Soren
  2. Thank you Jules, I know, he just PM'ed me.. But we have plenty of these boxes layin' around in Denmark. What do you think of his project?
  3. Thanks Nige. And added with at bit of british humor ey? "Fink"!
  4. Hi everybody on this all knowing, all dancing board! My buddy, who's currently building a Mog/Rover hybrid: http://www.obelixen.dk/projekt%20ræser%2008/ Is in need of some info for a bit of axle strength calculation.. So as the title says he needs the ratio for all three speeds in the Chrysler 727 gearbox from the early RR. I have searched high ald low on the net, but cannot find anything useful.. So I thought of you guys! There is bound to be someone here who has some data on this?? Many thank you's in advance
  5. Hi Kingdong I have the new Paddock parabolics in the back, and the old ones in the front. The new ones look's a much better quality, and behave as could be expected. The two things I like the most about the new ones are: 1. The third leaf isn't poking into everything, because the ends sit tight with the other leafs. And 2. They haven't got those weird sized bushes in them, that the old ones did!
  6. Flying kind of takes the fun out of going offroad dosn't it?? I would see no problem in using a Mog for desert crossing.. But of course the portal's will not be of any good use most of the time.
  7. Sounds interresting.. I'd better keep a close eye on this thread..
  8. Salisbury! Both front and rear, best option for a series i think. And at little money aswell. If you go 24 spline in the rover axle (which I have done) You're weak link will be R&P. So you would need diffpegging. No problem on a Sals.. BUT! There is an issue regarding the size of the diff! If you don't run large tyres you'll be hanging on the diff all the time.
  9. Well I haven't been looking at it myself, but he tells me he got the idea from them. So I s'pose its true.. I don't know if it's a bad solution I think it looks simple and smart enough. I have often wondered why people don't use 411 axles? They are exactly the same strength but narrower, and will fit perfectly under a LR or RR with disc conversion. And the best part is they are a ****load cheaper! Atleast here in Denmark that is..
  10. Hi CC Take a look at my buddy's built here: http://www.obelixen.dk/projekt%20ræser%200...Billede931.html He's doing it the StraightForwardSupplies way, and using Mog stud pattern.
  11. SWEET!!! Most be hell of a devil in the snow..
  12. I say: Unimog 404 Drivetrain, including gearbox, and chassis. Defender body with galv. bulkhead etc. TD5 Engine with 180 bhp standard. And of course a big mechanical center-mounted winch with 90 meters of wire! B)
  13. Super! Thanks. My buddy needed to know, because he's building ram-steer on a project
  14. Hi Chaps what are the PAS pump pressure on a RR classic V8?
  15. Hi All. I have a mate here in Denmark that needs the rear section of the wiring harness for his 90" 2,5N/A. Which companies in the UK can supply this? Cheers
  16. Wouldn't it be possible just to use a disk conversion kit for the front, on the back? I mean, its the same from the stub axle and out, right?
  17. Cheers for the help guys It is the OD that is off.. The rest is fine. I haven't measured the polybushes because I dropped them in the hole and there was about 10mm of space left! So I just gave up and threw the bushes back on the shelf!
  18. Hey Fridge Thought about doing that, I actually know of a 4x4 shop here in Denmark that might have something I can use. But I thought that it was just me, being stupid, 'cos I have never heard of anybody else having this problem! There must be several people running these springs that have changed bushes? It's just a thought, but if I buy bushes for a 109, maybe they are bigger? (I have a 88") Its actually somewhat of a dilemma with bushes.. Because with rubber bushes it travels better and gives a bit softer ride. But they tear themselves when articulating. Polys are much better because they don't "twist" apart. But they are much stiffer, which ruins the travel.. Any thoughts on this? Cheers Søren
  19. Hi guys I'am running a set of parabolics from Paddock, and are quite happy for them. But! I have shot all the bushings in them, and therefore bougt a set of Polybushes for the whole car, but there way too small for the springs! Apparently the springs have a 35mm bushing, and the Poly ones are much smaller.. And I can't seem to find any "larger" bushings for series cars, not even at Paddocks where the springs come from. Anybody have an idea where I can get these bushings? Would much prefere Poly.. Cheers Søren
  20. Smashed a UJ in the front of my 88" in the summer holidays.. And actually did again this weeekend
  21. Cheers mate. But the timing adjustment, should I just do that the "trial and error" way? adjust it a bit, go for a ride, adjust a bit more until it runs slight worse then go back? Ofcourse a dyno would probably be to prefer, but haven't got any lying around in my backyard..
  22. Hi Turbocharger, like your plan. But what exactly do you want me to do with the EGT? Measure the exhaust temp now without intercooler, then fit one and tweak the engine until the exhaust temp. still is bit lower than without intercooler? And be a happy man?
  23. Yes Honitonhobbit, a wise suggestion. But ofcourse I was exaggerating just a bit! But anyways the biggest issue in fitting a V8, is the lack of room when the car is LHD, the same is actually an issue when fitting any engine to a land rover thats LHD. It's obvious that it was designed RHD.. But speaking of V8, does any of you have weblink of some sort to a place where I can get an adaptor-plate (if its called that) for fitting a V8 on series box?
