  1. They do all the door parts for a push button door as well.
  2. Have a look here for a new set of doors, as mentioned it might be cheaper then getting yours repaired. http://www.splandrovers.com/default.asp
  3. Thanks found the measurements, that's a great help.
  4. I have been given a Mantec snorkel, but my defender does not have the vents in the wing to fastern it to. Does anyone have measurements as to where I can cut out the hole in the wing myself. As I don't fancy buying a new wing just to fit the snorkel.
  5. I actually like the look of the lift handle doors, how much work is it to fit them and replace the newer push button type.
  6. Don't remember a winch, too busy in a second car racing down the glacia.
  7. looking at the pictures the wheels don't seem to be pointing in the same direction either, although that could just be the angle of the picture. I've been in one of the Iceland exploration vehicles, they bear no resemblance to this, they are very minimalist in there design, just well engineered to carry the large wheels.
  8. The vehicle is a little OTT, but it looks to be built for a purpose, One that does not include running to the shops, would like to know what its main purpose is.
  9. The parts that incorporate the door handles look similar to these http://www.lrsshop.co.uk/content/corsetti-engineering-front-door-sliders
  10. Signed and shared on Facebook so hopefully more people will see it and sign as well.
  11. How do I remove the old sender unit, from the fuel tank, couldn't see any way it was held in, but it won't turn.
  12. Thanks for that. I have having a look into this over the weekend. I've only had the car a few weeks, so still getting to know the old girl. Not having a lot of info to go on is causing a bit of a headache, I do know the engine was changed a few years ago, so I'm not sure what age the 200tdi is and I have been told that there is a difference in the fuel senders. Hopefully I have ordered the right one if it needs changing.
  13. Sorry for the stupid question, I've never looked at the wiring for the fuel sender, and it looks like the wiring has been hacked by someone in the cars history, which wire should I take of the sender and connect to earth. Is it possible to run a new wire straight form the sender into the fuel gauge.
  14. The most annoying road users are tractors, loads where I live that seem to have just one high mounted central head light, which as well as blinding you stops you been able to work out just how big the tractor is. Not fun on single track roads
  15. The big problem is, most modern cars have automatic lights and people just leave it on auto all the time, must admit I do. Although its foggy it is bright so the lights don't activate and you have to turn auto off to put your light on. Just general drivers been to stupid to look at the conditions and alter their driving. I do think side light should be band, or made to they can only be used if stationary as they are useless.
  16. This is going to be a long shot but, I've just bought an E reg 110 from a friend. Originally it had a V8 but this was changed a few years ago for a 200tdi due to the fuel costs, as he was using it as his daily drive. I never noticed when I picked the car up but the fuel gauge does not work, the car runs fine, so i'm not sure where is the best place to look. I'm new to defenders although I do have a 300tdi Disco1. Any ideas where to look to get it working would be very helpful as i am told its not good to run a diesel out of fuel.
  17. Sorry for jumping in, but i have a quick question. Is it possible to attach a Nato Hich with a NAS style rear step. onto the back of a E reg 110. been looking o Google but can't find as definative answer or pictures of them both fitted at the same time.
  18. Sky Go, been able to watch TV or entertain the kids while the Mrs shops, is unbeatable
  19. Okay thanks, I'll have a look. Was hoping it was something obvious.
  20. I have a strange problem with the steering on my 1995 Disco 1. There is a lot of play in the steering before it wants to turn left, but nothing turning right. With the steering wheel in the center the car tracks fine, no vibrations, but to make the car go left I need to move the wheel, about 45 degrees before the car starts to move. It is fine turning right, very little steering input is needed, I don't drive the car all that much so its difficult to work out just how long the problem has been there. I fitted a recon steering box, last summer so i hope its not that. Could it be anything o do with the damper.
  21. Sorry to jump on the thread, I'm moving away from a disco into a defender 110, a picture of a defender wiring of a winch would be helpful or me. I'll try to get some pictures of the wiring for my disco. But not sure it will help, I didn't fit a cut off switch, and the wires just run under the grill.
  22. Not sure if this has been seen before. this has to be the ultimate defender conversion http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2539300/Pimp-ones-ride-80-000-makeover-Queens-favourite-4x4-Land-Rover-Defender-includes-drinks-cabinet-wifi-mood-lighting.html
  23. could do with some details on the vehicle, such as how the hell is it worth 160,000.
  24. Made my day that, thanks for sharing.
  25. Fun, but very silly. If there was an accident it could be very serious.
