  1. Thanks guys but unfortunatly tuff trek cant supply untill the end of the summer . So by default i have had to go with direct 4x4 . They were very helpfull on the phone and they do one with an extended anex and ladder specificly for defenders . They have also supplied a heavy duty roof rack . Unfortunatly the tents are made of the lighter sail fabrics but this should be ok as i dont intend using it in the colder months . And to be fair the price was very very good . He said if i wasnt completly satisfied when it came he would get it collected and refund all my money including the postage . You cant say fairer than that Mark
  2. Hi i have had a good search on the forum and found lots of info on roof tents . I am looking at the tuff trek ones and the ones that direct 4x4 sell . It would be either 1.6 or 1.8 wide . Just wanted to know if any one has used these tents or had a chance to have a good look at them to give a review on quality . It will be used for touring uk and europe . Thanks

  6. What about a discovery . Rated as the best alround vehicle in the world
  7. From reading franks cover of this in lrm the first mistake you made was claiming off your insurance . They can wright off your car . If you had claimed direct of the driver at fault you are then the third party and they can not wright your car off they have to repair it regardless of cost . I hope you can get this sorted . Your other option is to ask them for an offer where you keep the car and get a payout then you can use the money to repair the defender . My uncle did this and it worked out the best deal , and he got to keep the vehicle he new and trusted . I belive they call it a for salvage settlement

  17. Hi on way to work today the gearlever on my 200tdi defender , lt77 box went weired . I think a spring or something must have broke . When i push the lever left for 1st 2nd and reverse gear the lever springs back to centre as normal . But when i pull it over for 5th gear and then let go it stay there and does not spring return to centre . Im guesing there must be a spring in bottom of lever at fault . Does anyone know what bits will be needed and if they are still available Hope this makes sense Mark
  18. Ok i have a strange problam with front wipers on my 200tdi 90 . Before i start pulling every thing apart i thought id ask if anyone has any ideas where the best place to start would be . When i first start up in a morning the wipers wont work after a bit of on and off they do start to work , but they only work on inter and stage one . Stage 2 does not work . Once they have started working they work fine on int and stage one but stage 2 never works . If i switch from stage 1 to stage 2 mid swipe the wipers just stop where ever they are on the windscreen . As soon as i turn them off they return to park position . Am i right in thinking switch or relay fault .
  19. I have super pro on my 90 fitted on davids recomendation and they are spot on .
