neil110
According to a couple of parts sites, those particular calipers were standard on the 90, Discovery1 and Range Rover classic. One option would be to fit vented discs on the front and the wider calipers. Honestly with prices like some of these it hardly seems worth your while to refurb your existing calipers. http://www.brit-car.co.uk/search.php?query=rtc4998&xBrand=&part_type=&xSupplierID=&product-sort=&xPerPage=10 http://www.brit-car.co.uk/search.php?query=stc1264&xBrand=&part_type=&xSupplierID=&product-sort=&xPerPage=
miketomcat
Some disco 1 and rangie classic were twin line so they will fit but plumbing needs to be altered. As far as I know all front calipers will fit all front axles (except disco2 and p38). Mike
Snagger
My preference it to have the calipers blasted, then remove their pistons and seals, undo all the unions, blanks and bleed nipples, use stiff wire to clear through all the bores and give them a through internal cleanout, then rebuild with Zeus Engineering's stainless piston kit. A lick of caliper pain or even Hammerite and they'll be better than new and far longer lasting.
landroversforever
If it's a keeper, have them rebuilt by REDD, they did my calipers and did a fantastic job
neil110
With genuine pads at approaching 80 quid a pair and a replacement (pattern) caliper available at £36.56 I think I would just chuck the calipers in the bin every time and fit new items along with new pads and discs
landroversforever
Good branded pads don't cost that much though.... No point swapping the whole caliper each time for something that's not going to be as good quality at that price.
mickeyw
I don't think I'd buy a £36 brake caliper Like Ross said, reasonable quality (Mintex or Delphi) pads are not expensive.
Snagger
Funny, the areas people choose to cut costs. We all read the horror stories about pattern hydraulic parts - why do some continue to ignore the warnings just to save 20 pounds?
landroversforever
Worlds quickest google and a set of pre 86 front pads for a 110.... £8.21 for mintex ones from Flat Dog.
