GKT
What LR engine has the screw on type oil filter housing to convert a 2.25 petrol engine? Am looking to purchase if anybody has the part.

Ex Member
There is also the Rocky Mountain adapter, which is cheaper. http://rockymountainspares.co.uk/product/spin-oil-filter-conversion-kit/
twodoorgaz
The 2.5 petrol ones were quite pricy a few years ago, so I got one from a 2.5 diesel (same casting) and just bought the little petrol-specific blanking bits separately by part number. Think it cost about £15 all in.

Davethelandy
Any joy with this? Want to do the same, I think early disco derv engines have the correct housing. I keep reading conflicting advice though
GKT
Found Haystee-automotive in the Netherlands the cheapest at about €42 plus p&p. When I emailed them they had sold out but we’re having a new batch at the end of the year. Can’t find any on the used market.
neil110
right here. I would hang on to the original though, because in years to come it might be worth quite a bit for somebody who wants complete originality https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Land-Rover-Series-Spin-On-Oil-Filter-Adaptor-Housing-HRC1369-FREE-UK-POST/311980751446?hash=item48a3807a56:g:Rs0AAOSwkVZZ4yGZ
xychix
something like this was done to my series, made me curse a little when I arrived here in france with a box of spares including 'default' filter stuff.. Found a dealer and bought 5 oil filters just to get it over with for a while Now the screw on is convenient I'd have to admit.
GKT
Thanks neil110. I suppose £60 isn’t too bad. I take your point about the originality thing.
Davethelandy
I've just got one 😁 just need time to fit it, what do you do with the oil cooler take offs? Also Isn't there a valve also inside that needs removing
