Potential purchase

So I posted recently as a long term series owner looking for a RR Classic. I've found a potential. Quite a tidy 1994 300 TDI auto. It's had the suspension changed to coils and various bits of minor work. No advisories on MOT but I have checked history and has had some welding in the past so will investigate - current owner seems to think it's been done well.

Going to look soon - any advice??

Check the body mounts. Rear floor and tailgait. Get the carpets up. Front passenger foot wells. Sills are Hidden behind plastic trim so hard to see. Head lining sagging. Not a major issue but worth a check. Battery tray. Behind the headlights. Good luck 😊👍

Rust, everywhere in the lower quarter of the body, as above, boot floor, footwells, front wheel arches, c-pillars bases, rear seatbelt mounts on rear wheel arches, rear body cross member, sills, a and b pillar bases, all 10 body mounts...

I think that's about it, but they are terrible rotboxes at that age.

Mechanically anything that relates to a defender can carry over really.

Bloke cancelled. Actually quite disappointed :( desperate for a RR!!

Don't be desperate, or you'll do something really silly! Bide your time and keep looking. It's amazing what pops up when you're in the right place at the right time, and you've done your homework so you know what to look for.
