Arjan
This is really, really scary.... Let me go out and measure again..... The outside dimensions are 120 x 180 cm and put on the floor, 10 cm high ?
Stellaghost
Yes that's correct the corners are square and not rounded as in your example pictures Regards Stephen
Arjan
Hi Stephen, Just back from measuring the cage again. Length wise it is just perfect. However, It is 60 mm. ( 6 cm.) too wide to fit in between the cage.... Deep Sigh....
hurbie
remove 60 mm from the middle , then use the cutout section to join the 2 half's together with sikaflex and poprivets ....
Stellaghost
So you need it to be 1.14m to the outside I could probably sort that out and then tig the corners up if your happy with that Regards Stephen
Stellaghost
So just been measuring outside myself I can get it to the width you want but how deep does it need to be because making it to the 1.14 means one of the long sides will be only 6cm deep looking at your pictures this might be ok Regards Stephen
Arjan
What are the chances of making it 60 mm smaller ? Would be such a waste to not use this.....
Stellaghost
Every chance 😁
Arjan
Hi Stephen, Let me think on this as I really need the "box" to be about 10 cm high for the gas struts, fabric etc. to go in etc..
Arjan
BTW - "Borders" as in Dumfrieshire... or more to the east ?
Arjan
Forum Relay would be very nice... It is roughly 2,400 miles to go and get it by car - I'm not sure about hand carrying this on board a plane these days 😁 ... in the old days I 'flown with about anything you can think of. .... and some... Stellaghost
More to the east close to Berwick upon Tweed if you need 10cm deep I will anneal the existing fold and straighten it out failing that I could tig a section of aluminium in to get you sorted Regards Stephen

Arjan
Awesome ! Thank you very, very much !!!! No hurry whatsoever.. I'll be at the LATP in August with the 88" and ,if need be, I can come north to collect it - no problem. It will go on the cage OK so transport should be no problem. Again, thank you very, very much !!!!!
Stellaghost
Excuse my ignorance what is the LATP Regards Stephen
Arjan
No worries - I didn't know either until I was told to go... Leafers At The Pitt a somewhat "different" event I was told " Series only " I am to go to with a friend, bringing 2 Series vehicles over. ( Apedale Valley Light Railway (near Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire) www.avlr.org.uk ) Will be only some 400 kms going North and I could sleep with friend near Edinbrugh. You're sure it is not too much of an hassle to modify the panel ?
landroversforever
I’m happy storing it if needed! Can’t offer to move it anywhere, but can’t store until Newbury? I’m about 15miles north of the sortout.
Arjan
Thanks !!!!!! Let 's see how this goes. I really don 't mind taking the Series up North. In fact, it will be a very, very special opportunity to take the vehicle back to where I found it back in 1978..
Stellaghost
So sorting out the mods for Arjan's roof this week. I have spoken to one of the young guys I work with who competes in motocross events throughout the UK and he is prepared to transport the roof section southwards as far as I'm aware he competes in Wales and at some point later in the year down at Portsmouth . He is away for a couple of weeks at the moment but when he gets back I will post a list of venues he is racing at and hopefully a forum member will be able to meet and collect roof section to help it further South. Will keep you posted Regards Stephen
Arjan
Wales would be very, very good as LATP is in the Midlands.. sort of
