Doors for a Series IIa

Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and to Land Rovers in general. I just inherited a '70 Series IIa 88 wagon that has been sitting in an overgrown lot for about a decade. I'd like to get it back on its feet and running. One of the first problems is that while it's been sitting someone has made off with the two side doors and the rear door. Does anyone have any laying around they'd like to sell? Any sources or leads are greatly appreciated. I look forward to leaning on the forum for support and advice as I get this baby going.

Hi John, where are you based? Your profile says NJ, which doesn't mean much to me. But the usual places to go for parts are the major retailers like paddocks, craddocks, Blanchard's.

There are also specialist door people, yrm, and sp.

eBay and faceache are also options.

I took NJ to mean New Jersey (USA). I thought this was supported by the vegetation in the picture, and the phrase 'overgrown lot'.
I was uncertain whether it should be a compliment to the 'stretch' of LR4X4 or an indication the John really was at the edge of the deepend (swimming pool).

If John wants a more US centric forum I'm not sure what to suggest.

Regards.

Ah, yes, of course.

There was a place, rovers North, that did series bits, and a forum, but that was ages ago.

Paddocks post to the Americas, so that's an option.

I'd imagine Terri-ann has US Series contacts with her long term ownership ?

There are several UK based mail order parts suppliers that will ship international , here's hoping you can get it out and back together .

I fitted a pair of new Britpart OEM bottoms and SP galv'd tops to a S3 this year and the fit and finish was good .

Do keep us updated , there are several US Series owners on here too .

Oh , and welcome :)

Welcome to the forum, John.

Parts are obviously much harder to find over there than in the UK.  Rovers North is in your region, but they’re not cheap.  You could also try Britannica Restorations in Lennoxville, near Ottawa - he does a fair bit of work on US Land Rovers and I think he can sort carriage if he has some doors.  He gets stuff in from the UK periodically, so could probably supply you at a reasonable rate.  He has a YouTube channel that is very interesting, too.

Welcome to Series ownership!  I'm in the USA, too.  I'm also assuming he's from New Jersey. :)

I usually order from the UK from the places listed above.  I would add LRparts.net is a good place to order from.  USA prices are just ridiculous for new parts.

I would like to order some SP4x4 door tops some day. ha ha!

Check out Guns n Rovers forum.  Lots of people on there with used parts in the USA.  Very helpful USA based group.
