Steve Nooo! Nobody mentioned that. With plain calipers, and my dimples the wrong way round I'll be lucky to stop at all! 😀 But seriously, just to thank all for your input so far. I'm now focussing on the boost side of the turbo, but won't get a chance to get back to the car until at least next Wednesday evening at the earliest. I'll see how that goes and report back 👍

Popular Post Northwards
Well, just to finish this off: Obviously sound is like a water leak - you know it's there, but it can be really hard to figure out where it's coming from. I didn't have "manifold squeal" as such, but it was turbo boost-side related. The jubilee clip on the inlet hose into the bottom of the intercooler was off completely. In my own defence it was too tight just to slip back onto the pipe, so I think I'd 'nipped it up' while adjusting the pipe routing and because it's a silicone pipe, and a bit oily, I (like to 🤪) think that it had just slipped off. Of course it could just be operator error. Cleaned up the pipe, secured the clip properly and the noise is gone. As simple as that. I feel a bit sheepish, to be honest, but I really do consider that I've learnt something. As I've said that sound was so 'big' and I really thought it was something mechanical. Without the experience of you guys here pointing me in that direction I don't think I'd ever have looked at the turbo pipework. So many thanks for reading my descriptions and looking beyond my own thoughts. 👍👍 2 2
