istruggle2gate11
AS you may have read in this post KORC are holding a camping weekend during the August Bank Holiday, I would like to extend this invitation to LR4x4, it would be ace if we could have a "Northern" meet. So whos interested? Let me know numbers, I will put aside a few acres for the LR4x4 camp. No need to enter the competitions (they are only fun based) but if any lr4x4 member want to do their own, let me know, Im sure it can be arranged. Ps, if you are travelling afar, you can turn up anytime from Thursday evening, leaving monday. The standard advertising gumph................... Calling All Off-Roaders! Following the success and high demand of last years camping events, we are holding another Mega Camping Weekend on August 24th through to August 27th this being the bank holiday weekend. There will be two days off road driving and three nights camping, you will be able to arrive at the site from Friday 24th midday (no off road driving permitted on this day) with Saturday and Sunday for off road driving and depart on Monday morning at your leisure. We are extending our facilities all of the time, as well as our ongoing site maintenance and obstacle programme, we are expanding the camping area, we are installing male and female hot showers, we will have our own Kitchens and we are investing in more heavy machinery to assist you! Also we should have opened our spare parts and consumables shop, and hope to offer emergency spares and fluids for those more “difficult” times! We will yet again re-grade the access road allowing anything being towed easy access to the campsite, may we please remind you to fill your aqua rolls from the tap near to the entrance. Any Chemical Toilets should be emptied in the waste facility near to the entrance also. On the campsite there will be toilets, a supply of fresh water, a marquee and of course the compulsory campfire. On Sunday we will be holding an award and prize presentation from the two day’s fun competitions such as the Mud Run King /Blind RTV/ Punch Challenge / Rocky Climber / Butlers Run and probably others! All this followed by (of course) the odd lemonade or two. We have as much fun socialising as we do off roading! The price is expected to be £55 for the three nights and 2 days off roading. If you are part of a club who plan a large gathering, please give us advance notice with the numbers expected we will then allocate you a dedicated area on the campsite. Lewis
I hope to be there (but dont let that put anyone else off) Just want to say that Kirton is an awesome site with a vast and varied rage of terrains, you could drive it for days and not get bored I would love the chance to meet and compete against other forum members, also I seem to remeber Bish owes me a beer Its also a refreshing change to go to an offroad site and have flushing toilets and a jet wash facility Heres a couple of video's from the June playday: A wet hill climb Much easier with lockers and portals A nice rock step where wheelbase and power beat a lightweight 90 any day I hope to see you all there Lewis

pugwash
Tony?, Bish?, Fridge?, Trev?, andy?, Pugh? soon as the truck is finished then i'll be up and i'll drag some of the others up too- you're not THAT far away after all, even in some of the slow beasties we drive (or don't, in my case). geoffbeaumont
Would like to, but not sure if that weekend's really doable - I'll be finishing a couple of weeks of leading on a youth activity holiday on the Friday (I think), so I'll probably just want to crawl home and sleep for about two days... FridgeFreezer
If I can afford the fuel (shut up Dan) and have the time I may pop up, I will have to consult my busy social calendar of paying off huge credit card bills
dirtydiesel
If I can afford the fuel (shut up Dan) and have the time I may pop up, I will have to consult my busy social calendar of paying off huge credit card bills Remember to buget in pas fluid and engine oil. I think we could genuinely have fun seeing where we can get the 109, and of course if sir fits a snorket we could also have a "wade-off". Snorkel is high up the list what with all this rain - and PAS no longer leaks thanks to the lovely chaps at Hyphose. Engine oil / pump gasket is next on the list if it stops raining for long enough

FridgeFreezer
So, do we have a forum full of vapour off roaders as well as builders? Well I did stick to the glass-smooth Russian tarmac, as you can see: Seriously though, there are a few jobs need doing before I use the 109 in anger, after all it's only had a quick test-drive so far
