Warthog
Atternoon all, Looking into new tyres for the truck. Would like to know what width rim would best suit a 12.50" Tyre? Cheers Mark
Jon White
What tyre you planning to run? the manufacturer usually specifies rim sizes for the differing tyre sizes. However i'd take a flyer by syaing for a 12.50 you want a minimum of 8" wide but preferably 10" wide. Jon
BogMonster
Manufacturers normally specify minimum rim width of 8.5". 33x12.50R15 is one of the most common tyre sizes here and the vast majority run them on 8x15 rims, some use the wide 10x15 rims but they stick a mile out past the arches, look silly because of that (IMHO), the vehicle gets absolutely plastered in whatever you are driving through, and the steering kickback and load on wheel bearings/king pins etc is exaggerated. I'd stick with 8x15 rims, that's what I have my other set of BFG MT's on.
Brett
I'm running 33x12.50r15 BFG MT's on 8x15 Gay spokes. There does seem to be a bit more choice on 15" rims becoming available now though.

Warthog
In that case check the Interco Tire Corp website - they list the recommended rim sizes next to the tyre Cheers Lewis I had looked on there before, noticed 10" were preffered. Just checking out what generally has been used aswell. Intentions would be to run them on double beady's at some point. So dont wanna spend too much on stock rims. (Well thats the plan) Cheers Mark
Dikiy
Hi! I'm looking for set of rims 10x15 to run on 33x12,5 BFG MT for my D1. There is no possibility to buy it in Ukraine. Could You recomend some companies in GB who can sell it? I found Devon 4x4 only http://www.devon4x4.com/shop.php?mode=prod...4&subcat=38 Thanks for reply
bill van snorkle
Different countries maybe different rules, but the tyre and rim association over here stipulates that a 12.50 tyre must be fitted on a 10'' wide rim. Bill.
BogMonster
Southam Tyres would be worth a try, the 10x15 rims are expensive though and my contact told me the other day that Mangels have just stopped making them but there are still some left around, so if you want some, be quick!
