Divster
Does anyone know of a supplier for bonnet protectors for 07 defenders? I can only find one supplier at the mo and would rather not use them if I could help it.
JSG
I've only seen it in their advert - but they must get it from someone else.........
BogMonster
Would this be an Orange version? I don't want one (my bonnet is the correct shape) but I know somebody that does...
Happyoldgit
Hmmm, I don't like the looks of that
SteveG
I agree, I saw it in the flesh at Peterborough and the word Fugly sprang to mind. Steve
JSG
Not a lot you can do with a bonnet that shape - I will get wing tops and prob not the bonnet bit for now.
BogMonster
FFS that is horrible. In styling terms it's rather like taking a massive wart on your face and then painting it with luminous dayglo orange paint to make it really really stand out
Divster
Agreed, it's not the most beautiful of solutions but I need some way of protecting the bonnet of mine. I will be using the wing tops and bonnet to occasionally access the front of the roof rack.
Top90
Would this be an Orange version? I don't want one (my bonnet is the correct shape) but I know somebody that does... No, it comes in Black and Silver.
Porny
I'd try: http://www.safari-equip.co.uk/index.php AFAIK they supply a lot of stuff to Scorpion.... but are much better priced and actually understand the term 'good customer service' I've had quite a few things off them in the past, and can't fault them. BigSi110
Why would anyone wish to stand on the hump anyway? Usually, these bonnet bulges deform easily. I'd have thought that chequerplate is just prolonging the inevitable. There's gotta be an alternative to this stuff, surely?
Happyoldgit
Don't forget that the new bonnets are steel but I agree and reckon it wouldn't take much to deform the bulge.

I'm looking forward to Central Networks getting some 07 defenders, wait to see how the stand up to sparky board use.
Guest diesel_jim
I'm sure that rebel 4x4 will soon start doing them.
mike4444244
Hi Could you not buy the treadplate and do it yourself? Its easy to cut with a jigsaw and then you can save yourself some £££ and know that it was done properly, failing that if you dropped into an engineering firm/fabricators with some cash and beer you could probably get one made bespoke and still cheaper? alantd
You'll see that Scorpion-Racing are advertising an 07 bonnet kit in this months LRO. Comes in black and silver. Still seems odd, though - it is broken into 2 parts: one part for the bonnet and one for the bulge. That wouldn't add any structural rigidity to the bonnet! Surely it would be better to have a single piece that incorporates the new shape of the bonnet?!?

Divster
Hmmm, I still can't find any (reputable) suppliers for this or indeed anyone thinking of producing either the orange version or a one piece. My conscience might have to take a knock at this rate
SteveG
My conscience might have to take a knock at this rate Putting aside your conscience, you also have to decide whether you want your Defender to look sh*t or not! Steve
