wizbit0
hola buenas tardes to everybody this is my first post i have just bought my first discovery a 1997 300tdi which is left hand drive as i live in southern spain, my problem is with black smoke under load i have read all the topics on the forum about fitting an egr blanking plate & i have done this but iam still getting black smoke under load is there a problem with the injectors or does the problem lye with the fuel pump thanks in anticipation
BogMonster
How much black smoke? Check the air filter is not blocked and the intake hoses are not collapsing (particularly the little 90 degree one coming out of the turbo) as restriction in the air intake means smoke because there is not enough air to burn the fuel. pinny
as bm said could be an air prob have you cleaned out the intercooler and the inlet manifold failing that someone could of tweaked the injection pump but i would clean out the intercooler chris

LZ5UL
If it's your first diesel car, keep in mind that diesels are always air hungry Even brand-new LandCruisers smokes a bit...
