landmannnn
The filler is either in the diff or in the diff pan on the axle depending on the age. Mixing and matching parts from various years gives the following possible permutations: filler on diff filler on axle filler on diff and axle no filler The last permutation, as you have discovered, is not really viable! edited - I suppose you could put the vehicle on its side, pull out a halfshaft and pour the right amount of oil down the axle tube. Cynic-al
you could drill a hole in the diff pan and weld a bung in. Obviously need to take the diff out incase of swarf. Measure off another axle to get the position right. The half shoaft would work if you measured out the volume of oil first - anyone know how much off the top of your head? Doubt you would have to tip the axle much.
Les Henson
If you jack one rear wheel off the ground by a normal hydraulic jack will lift (15-inches), then you should be able to easily fill it to the required level. Les
jonket
Is it not possible to get it in through the air venrilation on the top of the axle?
lrfarmer
Is it not possible to get it in through the air venrilation on the top of the axle? yes but it would be slow
geoffbeaumont
Do you mean it has no plug above the level of the drain plug, or just a level plug? If the latter, fill it through the level plug hole (using an oil syringe or similar).
bluespanner
You could always tip the vehicle onto its roof and fill it through the drain hole.

iomlt
Take a shaft out and measure the exact about and pour in. put axle on angle... or put a wanted on here for a diff / case with filler plug in it.
