Front half shafts

Can someone remind me which front shafts are prefered as the strongest/most convenient.

It's been a long time since I have had anything to do with LR axles and i'm a bit out of touch. I think the percieved wisdom was to use AEU2522 CVs but what vehicle/age shafts?

All help gratefully accepted!

Using AEU2522 (ie. 23 spline) CVs means that you have to use 10-spline (at the diff end) half shafts. If you use a later (ie. 32 spline) CV, not as strong, then you can use either 10-spline shafts or 24-spline shafts. The latter being stronger of course.

The only way to use the stronger 23-spline CVs and 24-spline shafts/diffs is to use aftermarket shafts, Ashcrofts etc.

The later CVs (300Tdi on for Defenders) had a different profile, as well as being shorter, due to different stub axle designs etc.
