Litch
I've got all the necessary tools (crankshaft locking tool, timing pin kit, puller, deflection torque wrench etc) and would be perfectly willing to help but don't know where you are? I'm in Bedfordshire.

Deej
Shame I'm not at home at the minute, would be more than happy to help and I've got all the tools from doing this job on my disco a few months ago. If you want any advice on doing it give me a ring, I picked up quite a few useful tricks doing it myself.

Les Henson
Please - don't take it apart first. If you know how to take it apart, then it's not that difficult to put the thing back together Tech archive is your friend http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showtopic=22319 Les. will4x4
hey Daan shame your not closer Were off to the seven sisters again this year November 25th i think but with the j33pclub.co.uk Quick question how do you tension the belt to 15NM? Surely doing the nuts up with a torque wrench is one thing but how do you know what place to tighten it?
western
use a torque wrench one of the pointer type not click stop type, load to 15nm then while holding the torque, tighten the tensioner securing bolt or nut, there's a 1/2 inch square drive hole in the tensioner plate.as in the photo below
Daan
Yes, thats the bit that is hard to achieve, even if you do have the right tools. You need 2 hands to torque it up while you nip up the nut with your other 2 hands. I do this bit on feel to be honest. What I find an issue is that the this setup slips over time, resulting in a loose belt. The torque specified in the manual is way too low for this to work in my opinion. But I am sure a specialist will come along and tell me different! Daan
Les Henson
Just to be tad non-technical tighten the tensioner until the belt will deflect in one direction on the long side by 10mm with moderate finger pressure. That's as near as dammit Les
