Hybrid_From_Hell
Loving it, ha ha. Shouldnt laugh really, im thinking of a megasquirt installation myself. The more i read, the more i ger confused. This just tickled me. Hats off to all on here, you must know your onions. Very Confusing I am sure, I must alter the Build instructions - and add " Technical Tip No 1 : Connect ALL The F wires - for a smoother running engine " Nige
CwazyWabbit
I've got to be honest I do feel like a real prat Top man for owning up to the mistake, many would have just claimed it was a faulty plug. You're learning a lot about MS during this install, you'll be able to set one up in your sleep after this

Hybrid_From_Hell
Well deserved chap Seriously well done, its often the easy things that can trip you up, and its very very difficult to spot your own mistakes. With all 8 firing should feel a tad quicker too Make sure you have not left something you tweaked in desperation which is wrong, and its back to the MOT testers with the same tweaks maybe needed as before but with all 8 working should be a better result ! Consider the 2 x plugs of the ones not firing as highly suspect life wise, best change them, as fouled plugs die vvv fast We all await the next installment, bet you are grinning now Nige
Bowie69
Well done Hope you get around to soldering those connections up and wrapping them nicely in heatshrink
FridgeFreezer
My 1st MS install (which was quite a lash-up ) I had one of the joints fall off on the M27, suddenly dropped to 4 cyls, had to solder it back up on the hard shoulder
Hybrid_From_Hell
On my own when tuning it I pulled out to overtake, booted it, it then spat and died. 1 1/2 hrs later and a vast amount of bits removed stripped and undone I was asked by passenger "You haven't run out of petrol have you Nige ?.........................." Bowie69
One other tip to listen for an injector opening is the old trick of using a long screw driver and placing it against your ear, and the tip of it against the suspect injector, you should hear a very clear clack-clack from the open/close, much louder than you think TBH. Used to use it for finding the loose tappet on my Fiesta 957cc first car
AncientGeek
When I was happy with my MS I sprayed it with conformal coating... immediately I was down to 4 cylinders and lost a host of signals. Yup, I had failed to mask off the DB37, thus insulating some of the pins.
