LCJ Posted January 2, 2012 Share Posted January 2, 2012 I'm looking to swap my 2.5 Petrol for a 200 or 300 tdi. I cant decide which, the 200 involves less hacking and hassle, but some people suggest the 300 is easier to get parts for and is less longth in the tooth than the 200s these days. I dont have the time or expertise to do this myself, so will pay a garage/expert to do it. Glencoyne are looking favourite, although its a fair old journey under petrol power from Surrey! So does anyone have any other recommendations for someone who could do this in the South/South East? Looking for someone who could ideally source the engine and fit it, again through time and experience constraints. forkrentfitter Posted January 2, 2012 Share Posted January 2, 2012 i have done several tdi conversions,if you are interested i have a spare 200 tdi engine which i could fit to your 90,i have my own 90 converted to 300 tdi if you want to look at my work,i am also in the process of fitting a 300 in my 110.i am in felixstowe suffolk,75 minutes from j28 of m25. Jim1 Posted January 2, 2012 Share Posted January 2, 2012 I was quoted 1500 quid and 3 days to do the work but I had to supply the engine and gearbox if required. So as I already had a 300 I did the work myself and only when I had the time, 1/2 days a week when I could. Only went to garage for welding after I marked all parts. Phillis Posted January 2, 2012 Share Posted January 2, 2012 When i did mine i bought a disco (200tdi)for the use of the engine, radiator/intercooler, the frame that they go in, sold the rest.. could be an idea so you get all the parts you need?
