TD5 downpipe removal without removing crossmember?

Recommended Posts

Don't know about TD5.

On the 300Tdi jack the RIGHT side of the chassis up at the front. IIRC the wheel should stay on the ground or be just off. Don't know if it will work for you but worth a try I think

This is the only workshop use I've found for a Hi-Lift.

Crossmember had to come off and also the front ARB needs unbolting from the chassis too.

I wouldn't worry about unbolting it from the turbo those bolts came off easily. The bolts between the downpipe and the mid section sheared on me. The remainder of the bolts are one mother of a thing to get out from the mid section.

Can the downpipe be changed for another one without the flexible section? bringing one from UK is too expensive for me, and the flex available here are too different.

From what I read some time ago, you can use a solid down pipe but more of the engine vibration is transmitted to the cab.
