Welcome! Always good to have more Series owners to keep standards up ^_^

As Rob says, the panels should be aluminium (although my 109 had a bit of steel as the floor for the driver, evidently cut to fit).

And as bede hints at - fill in your location, it will help people to help you ;)

hi,I am located in the village of Ushaw Moor which is about 2 miles from Durham city centre.I don't think silicone sealant is classed as welding, but my first car(a mk 2 escort) had a front wing held on with bodge witch was painted over with underseal it came with 12 months mot. You live and learn don't you

Hmmm, what size nut and bolt are we talking about? They make 'em pretty small you know :)

What about pop rivets, they would also bung up a hole.

I'm just wondering what your reason is to want to weld up such a small hole. Could it be that there's a large area of said small holes, rather like a paper doyley, and thus requiring a larger patch?

As already mentioned, most of that area should be aluminium, and that is not widely known for being full of holes
