Tris Cocks Posted December 7, 2012 Share Posted December 7, 2012 Hi I've got a new x-brake which I was planning on fitting last night while I had a spare few hours. As with all good plans this soon went out of the window when one of the bolts decided to spin and wouldn't come undone, to cut a long story short I had to cut the bolt off and needs replacing. Ive got a New bolt but does anyone know how they are held in place so that they don't spin? Is it just a case of unbolting the output flange and slipping a new bolt in? Aren't they just standard 1" or 1-1/4" long (depending on application) 3-8" UNF bolts? mmgemini Posted December 7, 2012 Share Posted December 7, 2012 I've yet to find bolts of that length anywhere other than the dealer. The standard 1" bolt has a very different length, if any, shank. Phil Hancock Posted December 7, 2012 Share Posted December 7, 2012 Not knowing the OP and what he is fitting his X Brake to i will say that series rear propshaft bolts at the transfer box are not a std off the shelf bolt as they are UNF threaded but have BSF/BSW heads which are larger sized.
