mike4444244
Hi Are there any instructors on here based in the North West who would be willing to do some training for our Search & Rescue team? We are a 100% volunteer team and funded entirely by charity, we use 2 elderly converted 110s and are currently saving up to replace them with 2 new ones. www.cheshire-sarteam.org If you're interested and would like to help us out can you PM me? Thanks Mike
Arjan
Contact David Lovejoy.' Although not local - you might be able to work something out.
Roverdrive
I would recommend Dave Mitchell at Land Craft. He can probably tailor a course to your specific needs.
Cynic-al
Just to put a pesemistic angle on the thread its for health and safety or insurance purposes make sure you have a record of their training and that it satisfies the insurers requirement. landroversforever
BORDA courses are recognised by HSE as I had to do one at work. Also worth noting that I think theyre only valid for 3 years.
mike4444244
Thanks everyone, I suspect Mr Lovejoy is completely the wrong end of the country, it does need to be 'official' I'm afraid, will try land craft and see what they think Thanks Mike
David Sparkes
The Askham Bryan College do training for 'off road'. I think it's one of the Yorkshire GLASS groups that has recently used them to provide training. On the back of that I think the same GLASS organiser* arranged for winch training as well, which like the driver training was configured around the needs of the attendees, and held at weekends, so it probably isn't in their list of courses. I didn't attend either course, but what struck me was that training from an Agricultural College was likely to be more rounded than that provided by 4x4 specialists. * The name Sue Walker rings a bell, I recall she runs a Facebook group as well.
