need4speed
What are the most powerful recommended bulbs fitted to these?
simonr
If you search for 12v 50mm projector lamps - they are available up to 300w. The higher power ones are a bit sensitive to vibration - but I ran 150w for a while without a problem. Si
need4speed
Ooh 4 of those would be handy. Cheers Simon
need4speed
Will this be on the edge of what a normal 40A relay can take or will I be fine?
JeffR
Be careful of "cheap" projector lamps - stick to either Osram, GEC or Philips. I use 100 W bulbs in a fibre optic light on a microscope and the cheap ones only last a couple of days whereas the decent ones can last months. need4speed
Maybe il use this to be on the safe side http://www.autoelectricsupplies.co.uk/product/171/category/
Bowie69
If you're switching them all on with one relay, 600W = 50A, so yes, either split it between two relays or one big 70A will be fine

I know Osram used to be very good indeed.

elbekko
Will the X-Lite wiring and socket handle 300W? I remember mine being a bit on the small side.
simonr
Fair point! It didn't do anything bad at 150W - but it definately got warm. Maybe best not to go above 150W Si
