Has anyone reset throttle linkage 200tdi FIP?

The spacer for the lift pump is only used if the operating lever (internal, that impinges on the cam shaft) is too long - these lift pumps can be used on a variety of engines, and there are many versions of pump too. Compare the length of arm on the old and new pumps to determine if it's needed.

The engine with the original pump fitted didn't have the spacer fitted but had loads of silicon round the mating faces and because of the problem i thought maybe it should have a spacer which is what other's have said but both pumps run with or without the spacer fitted and both levers on each pump looks the same so atm the old lift pump is fitted without the spacer but has this problem where the governor comes in before the linkage on the FIP hits the stop on the pump

You need to test the lift pump separately...

Disconnect the wire from the fuel solenoid.

Remove the fuel line into the injection pump and put into bucket.

Crank engine. You should get a good flow of clean fuel. If you do, that is not your problem. If you don't, there is a supply issue.

Yeah its getting fuel i just wasn't sure it it should need a spacer or not and with the engine i bought originally not fitted with the space and then i read up some had them some didn't i just thought i would try it thinking it was the spacer needed but its looking like its the FIP now so when i can afford it i will have to get it sorted :(

Had another go at the FIP today as i need to do something to get it to the diesel spacialist when its booked in so i set the throttle linkage to where i was happy to drive it, anyway i had a little run round in it and the engine pulls well, is quieter than the Def engine, dosn't smoke as much as the other engine and that didn't smoke much anyway, but it will only go to about 40mph but even with this problem its got i am quite happy as the problem should get sorted when its done, oh and the steering feels better aswell

Yes, but since your truck is running very poorly, you need to dig in and investigate the cause. Checking the timing at the pump makes sure that the pump flange was installed and is correct for the pin set method. Otherwise, you might as well pull the pump off and get it rebuilt.

That's the plan booking the 90 in to have the pump and injectors overhauled

Not sorted it yet but had to do a tip run today with the 90 with trailer and it didn't do to bad considering then when I came back and un-hitched the trailer I decided to go for a 20 mile drive with no prob's and found where I could the landy would gradually speed up to 60ish so it does sound like its slightly Retarded
