I agree with the above. it sounds like your are checking if the string touches both sides of the tyre evenly with the string straight - and have a rear wheel (albeit measured from the tyre) that doesn’t seem to sit square to the others... I’d measure the distances between inside of the wheel rims as close to inline with the axle centres as you can. It could all be dodgy tyres.

Stop spoiling my cathartic whinge ! And anyway its not £20 - it’s £20 a year on top of £315 multiplied by how ever many years they stick with that increase.

The only flaw with that is that my wages (and many other folk’s) haven’t tracked inflation.

£315 this year... I’m starting to think of the viability of keeping it long term ... Whilst recognising we remain fortunate in comparison to some of our European cousins ... I’ll be dead before it qualifies for the rolling 40 year exemption, and with the series getting closer, I’m starting to think I don’t want to be carrying these costs into my retirement... You can see why people VIn swap them 😕

The finish is fabulous isn’t it. What springs are you running? I do t remember reading that - bu5 I’m curious because it seems to be sitting very high. Are you over a 2” lift?

It’s on the same side of the relay though isn’t it - it’s the main current running through the switch to the lamp E-B-L&M. Paint looks lovely !

The Td5 lighting relay doesn’t switch the live load for the lights - the switch still carries that (perhaps the reason they melt so often!) - the relay just switches the dim/dip circuit. A few folk on here have set them up so that the switch just switches relays - that take their 12v supply from the back of the alternator. It preserves the switch, but more importantly means that there is far less voltage drop by the time it hits the lights - it made a big difference on my Td5. Worth considering.

My recommendation would not be LED - it would be the addition of a loom and relay to take 12v direct to halogens, with nightbreaker bulbs.

The only downside with air is the size of compressor die grinders use - you seem to need some fairly hefty cfm.

Kudos to the chaps patience and good manners - he is sending me a 3rd set tracked and signed for. The 80” has Lucas ST51 ‘D’ light - and he does rather neat LED board with mounts and the full set of tail lights in there.
