  1. The parts aren’t large - just a solenoid and so forth, so easy to transport. I’m happy to fit with anyone who can pick it up and take it in the right direction 🙂
  2. On a Td5 inlet manifold there is a small plate with a captive nut - which the cover bolts to. I can’t find it on the inlet manifold parts or on the cover .... can anyone help please?
  3. I have the blue seas double one and it’s great - I regularly charge phones and iPads on it and when I put one in my series, that’s what I’ll be going for again.
  4. I’d love to take the 80” there when it’s done ... 😊
  5. Looks wonderful ! would you describe how your got there l?
  6. They come with paint on though don’t they ?
  7. It’s a similar principle to how we get on without our kidneys.
  8. Here’s a link: https://workshop-manuals.com/landrover/defendertd5/electrical/immobilisation_system_from_02my/page_755/ I think the Discovery uses the door lock?
  9. It’s the ignition - but you have to open and close the door at certain points - and with a broken switch we did it by earthing the wire last time... got it working and got complacent, never sorting the switch. Now she’s had a new battery fitted and it’s immobilised again.
  10. So I need to make the connection to earth for it to think the door is open ?
  11. Can anyone tell me wether the door switch on the Td5 / Puma connects the earth when the door is open or closed? My friend has rung me and needs to do the EKA thing on her 90, which has no working door switches - and I can’t check my 90 at the moment... I think the door switches a wire to earth, which signals the ECU to turn on or off the interior lights by providing an earth path to them, which have a permanent live.
  12. I think the clever engineering bit was in the context of keeping quality up and costs down..

  14. To accommodate your boredom : He’s a billionaire pharmaceutical who loves Land Rover Defenders. He thinks there is still a need for basic, repairable, capable, utility vehicles - as the Classic Land Rover’s came to be Hes spoken to JLR and they’ve both acknowledged that JLR don’t. He believes with clever engineering it can meet modern safety requirements, be made to last, be reasonably priced and be super capable at the same time - and he plans to make them.

  16. We seem to have strong opinions - but I’m not certain people are really disagreeing are they? 😳
  17. 1.2 is what you want. Providing that Disco box has the Centre Differential Lock on it - you’ll be fine.
  18. Custom exhaust do seem a bit of a mine field. Someone I know of used poweflow and that was fine, and they do offer a guarantee .... I have heard of some of these places using steel flanges as @Maverik said - also plain steel wire so the welds rust, I’ve even heard of 2nd hand parts being used with just a shiny new end pipe sticking out of the back. I expect you need to see what’s around you and go and have a look - armed with some questions.
  19. @Simon_CSK Thanks for sharing 😊👍🏻
