  1. Yeah there is a 2" gap between the gutter and flue but I will keep my eye on it just in case
  2. That sounds good and a good price too, as regards drill size for what I want to use it for now securing the flue in the garage I said 8-10mm but can be 10-12mm it this drill will take 10-12mm bits
  3. What's best electric or battery as regards SDS drills
  4. Just remembered my Hotties heat logs should be here soon
  5. Mmmm, I did clock a nice pillar drill in the window whilst we was waiting to go in that would need bolting to the floor and I keep saying I will bolt the bench to the floor so yes it mite be worth buying one
  6. It is my mates, it's a Bosch one with hammer but as everyone has said I need a better drill and bits so will look out for a cheap SDS drill and get the right bits
  7. Ok I will look into buying a cheapie and get the SDS bits aswell
  8. Yes it is, the garage is pretty insulated around the walls and roof but does have a big gap under the big doors and between the doors and frame but think I will fit a vent somewhere in there though just for piece of mind as I do intend replacing the doors at some point
  9. Yeah should do, just need to insulate the wall behind it yet, fit a decent bracket to the outside of the flue and possibly fit a vent in the garage before I can use it properly though but I am really pleased with it
  10. And this is the stove from the other side of the garage, obviously the shelf to the left will be moved as we just made enough space to fit it in place really
  11. As we wasn't entirely sure where the stove was going we didn't buy an outside flue bracket so as a temporary measure we made one but will get a proper one ASAP
  12. Fab'd an old landy under seat lid ( tin ) to make the insulator / finisher for the flue
  13. A pic of the stove fitted in place to show where it is going
  14. We tried going through different places within the marked out hole, tried going through first with a massonery drill then a steel drill then a massonary drill again but both the steel drill and massonary drill went blunt there was only one place that the drill went through with no problem but else where they just wouldn't go. what do you think about a diamond tipped drill bit
  15. Yes we saw sparks in the hole with drill operating thought it was steel but wasn't it was stone mixed with the concrete and blunt all the massonary drill bits we had
  16. Dewalt DT7935 set any good £30 on eBay can't see an item number with my mobi
  17. Hi guys Just fitted a log burning stove in my garage and after struggling to drill through the concrete wall of my garage ( concrete sectional panel ) construction to make a hole for the flue I need to drill an 8-10MM hole in the same panel to secure the flue to the wall for added support. Can someone advise me please of what type of drill I would need obviously it would need to be a massonary drill but there is a lot of stone in the concrete that my drills won't touch
  18. Thanks for that yeah I will experiment with it first, think a cardboard box lasted nearly 5 mins
  19. It's all up and running now but only tried it with cardboard just to seal the joints with heat and even from just the cardboard the garage was pretty warm and can't wait to try some heat logs or even proper logs. The only thing we didn't buy was a bracket for the top stack as we wasn't sure where the stove was going but it went where I just wanted it so for now we made a temporary bracket but will get one ASAP
  20. Will do, where would I get one from as I don't think machine Mart sell them only log burners and flue's
  21. Got the Pot belly stove inc the flue stuff, had to get everything as with the VAT free card you can only use the card once, going to start fitting it tomorrow
