Paddocks get them delivered to themselfs then dropped off on their Yard unloaded with their fork lift truck then carried 3 at a time I think into their warehouse then as they are sold they fork lift them onto the Customers / Currier's vehicle, my guess is they have dropped it somewhere between it being unloaded in their yard on arrival from marslands and it being loaded up onto the Curriers truck destin to be delivered to you, so it's Paddocks fault. Personally if it was me and lived in the U.K. I would drive there and speak to someone, I understand with emails and phone calls they seem a bit layed back but when speaking to them face to face they are totally different bend over backwards for you and really do pull strings, but that's me as I hate phones

Cornish Rattler replied to Cornish Rattler's topic in Tools and Fabrication
Just made some space in the garage for where the stove is going when I get it tomorrow as I have two choices as to where its going but bother area's are pretty close to each other so I have made enough room to cover both area's, can't wait now -

Disco tdi with gas conversion ?
Cornish Rattler replied to Cornish Rattler's topic in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)
The engine has been in and running for about just over 4 months now and when I had the engine on the bench before hand for another month or two that is when I checked it so the first chance I get I will re- check it but pretty certain there was none to little movement back and forth and none up and down -
Disco tdi with gas conversion ?
Cornish Rattler replied to Cornish Rattler's topic in Defender Forum (1983 - 2016)
The guy did show me the conversion stuff a flat tank about 2'-3' square probably would fit between the chassis rails and some pipe work, there was a T piece screwed into the turbo that I would need to remove and fit the fitting from the other engine used instead, the shaft in the turbo feels ok with very little back and fourth movement and no up and down movement hence why I was thinking it was a turbo problem but tbh I don't no anything about turbo's -
Hi guys During last summer I bought a Disco 200tdi engine from a Land Rover breaker and fitted it into my 90 the engine it's self was fully rebuilt a few years ago and came out of a Discovery rally car, never here'd of such a thing but assume he ment a comp safari truck, anyway the Disco 200tdi that the engine came from was fitted with a gas conversion assumably LPG but not sure but since I fitted the engine I have had the FIP and injectors recon'd and the engine runs ok but feels slightly under powered through the gears than the Def 200tdi engine this engine has replaced but I know the Def engine's FIP had been tweaked to the max, with the FIP on the Disco engine being still under warranty I don't want to mess with it and tweak it and as far as I no the FIP has been set to top end power and just wondering if the Turbo could be at fault rather than the FIP, the reason I am thinking this is if the engine has had LPG or what ever running through it could the gas Damage the turbo over time, what do you think

1, Fit the later type flat roof 2, Get a pair of glass van sides fitted 3, Fit a pair of forward facing rear seats 4, Fit the new bulkhead we bought a while back 5, And in between all this get the 2a done -
I know it's not the same type of Machine but my son has just bought a carpet cleaning machine and whilst shopping for this Machine he showed me one on eBay that is sat in a frame on rollers and is designed for loading it into a van. the way it was made the back of the frame was angled to lift the back of the machine over the edge of the van floor the back is on rollers aswell so once the back of the machine is rolled over the edge you then roll it in the landy. as you are a welder could you not make something like that to help get it in the van. or a small winch and ramps is another idea. hope this helps

Cornish Rattler replied to ejparrott's topic in International Forum
With the oil seal make sure you buy one with the oil seal fitting tool stops the inside lip flipping over the crank when fitting the housing back on with the seal fitted to the housing- 31 replies

Air tool fittings - long or short?
Cornish Rattler replied to reb78's topic in Tools and Fabrication
I just keep to the PCL ones mainly as we used these when I was in the forklift game and the spannering game back in the 70's and they seem still to be very common, the only thing I don't like is that some of them leak but I would amagine they all will eventually no matter what make -

Hi guys Long story, recently I replaced my seized up accelorator cable 2.5TD ( Disco 200TDI ) when it went stiff I was pretty close to Land Ranger ( Middlewhich ) so I removed the cable and walked over to them and bought a new cable, now when I showed them mine all there cables inc 2.5TD / Def 200 / Disco 200 was all longer than the one I had all the same fittings either end so I bought the shortest one but when I came to fit it the cable although too long was too short where the adjuster goes through the bracket and the end of the cable fits the FIP so had to cobble something up to get me home 30 miles away so I need to fit another accelorator cable and not sure which one I need, the 90 had a Def 200 in it by PO and I have since fitted a Disco 200 but used the original cable that was fitted when I bought the 90. Any idea's please
