I did consider getting some 3mm wide aluminium strips and weaving them together with some round aluminium bar for the outside, but that would have been a ridiculous amount of pass overs to braze / tig together What I'm doing is also quite long winded but a couple of hours after with an air file and it should look not too bad, any imperfections will be masked by paint and front winch to a degree. Also my previous mesh was a homemade affair with 1" weld mesh so was never going to look 100% regards Stephen -

Had a go at punching 18 holes tonight, only another 80 for this section.....lol So thoughts please, do you think it will look OK when cleaned up and painted. Only another 400 holes to punch, it is quite tedious Again thoughts good or bad Regards Stephen -

Had a bit more experimentation, last night I could not punch through 3mm aluminium but 2 mm was champion, not using hydraulics just using drill press and leverage on handle So tonight I pre- drilled and now I can punch through 3mm So just need to mark out pre- drill holes and sort out a clamping system to keep all aligned and have a shot at full panel regards Stephen -

Obviously I will need to punch a lot more holes ( think I'd best temper dies first ) this was just a trial run to see if it was doable, will also need to sort out alignment and spacing. The finished front rad panel will as far as possible be made out of a single sheet of aluminium which is why I am exploring making the mesh holes instead of a steel mesh grill, bit to do yet though regards Stephen -

Rear tub lifted on for the last time, dark nights suck so a bit pointless to take a photo of it fitted, however the pictures I did take are below Going to have to purchase some extra long needle nose pliers to make this easier all rear bolts fitted and tightened up, you can see where I've added rubber gaskets and plastic washers to keep electrolytic action at bay. Rear rubber gaskets do need a slight trim though Used nyloc nuts because they are longer and should make life easier if tub has to come off, no rusted threads to deal with Torchlight pictures of how boxed end looks when in final position Regards Stephen -
