  1. 1994 Vogue 300 tdi auto front radius arm bolt. I'm going to have to cut the current on off to get it out.
  2. Finally I have a car pc running Unbuntu 9.1 with tuner studio MS and I have the touchscreen working. Used one of these Transcend - IDE 40 Pin Vertical - 2GB Flash Module (SLC) (although need the 4 gig one really there are great)
  3. I think current guidelines are 5 years old. If it was old and deflated the thing would overheat and go bang pretty quickly. Mythbusters were doing explosive blowouts and it didn't get messy until you ran deflated tyres till failure. A straight hole (from a shotgun) and the thing held together fine. 4 minutes of running on the tyre with no pressure in it and boom.
  4. just for the record I'm saying I don't think that works
  5. Nice stupid question now. Do Air filters work both ways round ? So if I have a cylindrical paper filter can I feed air into the middle and have the draw to the engine on the outside ?
  6. I thought the 2 were different and not interchangable. I think the size is the same but the windscreen surround for the seals is not.
  7. My current air box almost fits but the routing looks tight
  8. All I swapped from carbs to EFI. This means my snorkel is now same side as EFI air intake. So as megasquirt means no air sensor my plan is to get an induction kit so the air filter can live under the heater box. This is for a rover 4.2 V8 I'm just curious if anyone has done this. Contenders are K & N Apollo http://www.knfilters.com/universal/apollo.htm Green Cotton Twister XL http://www.greenfilters.co.uk/Green_Filters_-_Twister_Filter_System-Twister_Filter_System_XL_Size/c683_688/index.html BMC cda100-150 http://www.bmcairfilters.com/infoCDA.asp At the moment I'm leaning to K & N but it might get a bit gaspy at high revs.
  9. All, I can't seem to find definitive settings for the LC-1 and megasquirt. The seems to be re-program view to give I think 10:1 - 20:1 which I thinks puts crossover at 2.35 V but also that the advantage of that isn't much and you can leave it a defaults that gives 2.45 V as crossover as long as megasquirt understands this value Also the response time under advanced, I've tweaked mine down to 1/12 response and that seems to stop tickover jumping all over the place. Is this right ? Can I run 2.45 V as long as megasquirt is set the same or can someone post up the table for programming LC-1 to the other set up ?
  10. The defender windscreen has a very steep angle. A lot of mirrors don't have enough adjustment.
  11. My first thought would be faulty air sensor as that's always my first thought.
  12. Yes! that's it. :-). Next question has anybody got one for sale ? I trawled the entire parts catalog and couldn't find it listed.
  13. "the bracket this clip part attaches too is part of the front screen frame inner face, should have 3 captive nutserts fitted. " Have the thingy in the picture. It's what that bolts to I'm missing. My screen rail just goes straight across.
  14. My windscreen surround seems to be missing the bracket for the rearview mirror. Does anybody have a picture of what the 3 hole mirror bracket bolts to please ?
  15. About this difficult I reckon. twin v8 exhaust
  16. Is that the one from the new A team movie ?
  17. I'm in the same boat I think. I have the 4.2 Y piece but the 3.5 standard box. I think it's a bit small and it doesn't line up on 2 of the mounts so I'm worried the manifolds are carrying too much of the exhaust. Has any body done the 300 tdi rear section ? I just have visions of them not meeting in the middle .......
  18. I struggled doing mine. And when I say struggled I mean I struggled and then bribed Fridge with beer tokens to do it. It was really easy after that. :-)
  19. Opinions vary on air suspension. Check it goes to all heights and look at the bags for wear. Personally I think air suspension is great. I thought I wanted springs till I got air suspension.
  20. In the picture above can I connect that meaty negative cable directly to the battery negative ? I can't remember if I heard once that you shouldn't do that.
  21. I'd like to get some quick release ones for mine. The stone size a bfg mud can pick up worries me slightly
  22. okay I've bought one of those lovely boxes. And very nice it is too
  23. I might be being a muppet but how does a common negative and positive bus work ? Does that just provide terminals you can connect to if you like ? I thought the positive bus might automatically feed one side of the fuses.
  24. Okay re-wire time. Options are as per this thread the modular fuse and relay box plus the marine fuse box from devon 4x4 or the modular box from vwp. The 2 fuses boxs and relay box is about £90 and the vwp with all the modules is about £120. So is the vwp £30 better ?
  25. Had a look and I can't see it so far. Might have consigned it to the parts I will never use rubbish bin. Sorry.
