  1. They will both bind when the axle drops, The rear you will have to go wide angle, The front you might get away with just grinding some extra clearance in the transfer box end yoke, The small joint doesn't like working at the extreme of its movement but they do last OKish if you grease them regularly and change them at the first sign of wear.. Also check the sliding joint on the front, At full droop there's not much overlap left and if the sliding joint is worn it will cause problems. To be honest, If you can afford them get both props, They are a much heavier duty prop, Longer sliding joint and bigger, Better UJ's. I have them both on mine and they are brilliant.
  2. I use the Gigglepin arms and am 100% happy with them, They are very good. The X arm is also very good but a slightly different product. If you want a bolt on solution they are one of the best (and quite likely the best) out there. If you dont mind a bit of Fab work (its not a lot of work but some people dont like to cut lumps off there chassis) Go Gigglepin you wont regret it.
  3. I'll do my best Jase but I cant promise anything! Yea, Theres camping on the Friday night at Slindon, We'll be there from mid afternoon.
  4. Im going to try and avoid it but for things to work out the way I want them too I think im going to have to mount the radiator in the rear of the truck. I know theres loads of you that have done it as ive seen plenty of trucks with them in the rear, but never really paid any attention. Anyone got any pics of how you have gone about it and Info on what you used (although I will probably get Ali sport to make one). Hope to try and keep it down so i can still see out of the rear window. At the moment I really cant see where im going to mount it. Even if I move the ctr winch I'm going to be struggling for room. Cheers in advance. Steve.
  5. Na, Ive decided they are far to difficult to find so I'll not bother with the tent and just drink a bit more so I dont care!
  6. My Odeseys have been brilliant but they are ££££'s, Not had experience of anything else.
  7. Thanks, No need for the install, I'll do it as I build. I would like to buy a complete kit tho, so I don't have to search for stuff causing hold-ups! I'm just about to part with some cash for the motor, I really want the V8 as I love the power delivery but must confess to being a little nervous of its ability to run submerged (not just splashing about), I know people sing the praises of MS but ive never seen it in action personally. If I had I think I'd be happier. As soon as I know I'll be in touch for the necessary bits. Cheers. Steve.
  8. Errr, Does that mean were likely to need one? Better dig one out then!
  9. It all bolts straight on, You need to change a couple of studs and use 300 oil feed and return. The only thing that doesnt is the dip stick but its easy to modify.
  10. Any body give me a shopping list for MS n edis'n a 4.2??? Please???? I know I'll need a couple of ford DIS coils What do I need on the MS front? I'd preffer to go for a ready built control unit. Auto Electrics are no problem (its what I do) but time is very short and MS is a whole new thing to me so as much plug n play as poss would be cool. I havn't seen the 4.2 yet and its a very long time since I did anything with them, Is there anywhere to hang a C.A.S? or will I have to Fab all that? Cheers. Steve.
  11. Its OK, Dont worry about the boots, If you look behind the front door you'll see my slippers !
  12. The D44 ones are very good and dont weigh too much plus the steering guard in nicely done.
  13. love you too mate, And I'm packing the sun tan lotion for Slindon, Think its gona be sunny
  14. Mmmm, I thought that, Isn't Nick competing?
  15. Yep, Fair play to him, Simons service is always first class.
  16. Thought you were having a crash course in navagation the other day!!!
  17. I'll have you know im a damn fine dancer and it is only improved by Jack Daniels !
  18. I just thought it was pop  ! Good to see you coming guys.
  19. So not much off road use but still a load more than your challenge truck ! Buy the Disco, Defenders are horrible. Or even better, Take Jase's advise!
  20. Well from what you have said guys it should be fine. As long as it stands a chance of being reliable I'll be happy. Not looking for huge power, Just enough to have something with a bit of life in it when coupled to an auto. Will run it standard as I only plan on using it until ive got the rest of the truck as I want it then save some pennies for something better. Cheers for the advise. A couple of extra Questions. Does the 4.2 run a surpentine belt? are all the rv8 bell housings the same? in other words will any Rv8 fit if I do have problems? Is there anything I will need to change from the std Lse kit to use MS and Edis? (eg does the 4.2 run Hotwire? Have I heard something about people having to change manifolds?) Cheers Guys. Steve.
  21. Mr Turner? If he was the competition I'd just throw a Tirfor in the boot of the subaru and enter in that  ! He'd probably only break something unloading it from the trailer. Think the 4.2 is (as Rhys states above) 202bhp, About half of what you will have :( but it will do for now until I can find some more ££££'s.
  22. Cheers Jim, If you could measure the dia of the bell and the stub shaft that would be brilliant!
  23. Can anyone give a rough idea of the size of a Longfield replacement CV for an 80 series compared to a Rover CV?
