  1. Nice to know he is still about. Made me nervous though. Hopefully I'll hear from him soon. Richard
  2. I have phoned, emailed and left messages for the last two weeks. Please contact me. Richard (you have my portal axles)
  3. Mine is probably a bit obvious! Richard
  4. Simonr, Nice site. The drum handbrake replacement looks interesting... Richard (LRE id Richard90)
  5. Peter I'll be in touch in October. We should be bringing up a scorpion extreme kitted 90 and a Gon2far 3 link 90. Should be an interesting day. Richard
  6. Peter Do you find that the heavier front springs needed for a winch and strengthened bumper tend to upset the front to back articulation balance though? Or did you also put very stiff ones on the back? Richard
  7. I run an extreme kit on a 90 that for about three months I used every day to commute to work 40 miles each way. Had no problem insuring (itemised on my policy) and found the handling OK (you must allow for a lifted 90 on big tyres.) My 90 cruises with this set up at 70+ no problem. I would be interested to know how that vehicle was set up. The biggest mod I made to my 90 was taking off the front winch. With it fitted the stiffer front springs needed compromised the front articulation. Since I put softer springs on the front, and stiff ones on the back it has made it much better balanced. You have to accept that it will alway be biased towards the front with that system. PS. I do not work for Scorpion, and am looking forward to seeing a 3 link 90 in action in a month or two so I can compare them side by side. I will be taking both out for a play. Unfortunately, what tends to let Scorpion down is the fact that none of thier ads have prices on them, and when you phone up the customer service can be a bit pot luck if they are busy. Richard
  8. I've had three ES (and Premium) D2's and never had any problems, these ranged from 10,000 to 90,000 miles. I also took one of them round Morocco with roof tent, jerry cans and an extra spare up top. (that ACE is great, you get no extra lean for the loaded rack.) I would stick with it until there is a problem. Richard
  9. Have multiple Defenders with them. Good prices, have not needed to claim yet. They seemed just as cheap for modded defenders as for series vehicles. Richard
  10. Any Saturday, or Sundays (except 11th and 18th) September onwards. Up for nearly any laning challenge (cage, lockers and 'some' experience) Cheers Richard
  11. JSG, any idea when the regs were tightened up, and does it now include designa chassis? Cheers Richard
  12. I nearly bought a series 2 like you are suggesting John. Cut down RR chassis = 0 points. RR axles and springs = 0 points. V8 and RR Box = 0 points. Power steering = 0 points. Nice series bodywork, though Richard Edited to add: I'm not commenting on yours JSG.
  13. I married my co-driver too. Luckily they are female (and work at a Land Rover dealer. B)) Richard
  14. Failed to post first time, then two posts appeared.
  15. Good excuse to get the angle grinder out? Richard
  16. 36x12.5 ET2's Billing show @ £169 (I think) each for 5. No V.A.T on top. Now just got to remove some bodywork so they articulate. Richard
  17. I've had the same orange polybushes on mine for the last two and a half years. Not had to change one yet, so they can't be that bad (and I do have a reasonable amount of articulation). Richard
  18. You resisted the 36" then Will? I found Devon very helpful. Good customer service. Richard
  19. Sounds interesting.....
  20. I have family on the edge of the plain (grateley) and would like to do a laning day later in the year while visiting if anyone else is interested. Richard
  21. I could not get mine working either when uploading it to the forum, so I put a link from a hosting site on and now it seems to be OK. Richard
  22. Been running orams with my extreme kit for two and a half years now. Only problem I had was that the origional seals started leaking after a year, by which time the design had been improved, so scorpion stripped them down and rebuilt them with the modified seals for me (free ). Being able to change bits and not be forced to buy a new shock is a plus for me. Richard
  23. Devon 4x4 does lightforce in the UK. Very impressive. Rich
  24. I didn't realise it was only 50 acres Pete, seemed bigger when we were up there. Hopefully in October or November the new 90 I'm working on will be done and will need testing, so I'll be over. Richard
