  1. Actually Mr Henson I filled in the location when I first joined. so there. I really must do some work today... Richard
  2. Filled in my location, but didn't want you knowing what an old fart I am. (31) Richard
  3. Protection and performance did mine (with the cage) Are you doing them like this or as a skeleton to hang the panels off? Richard
  4. I forgot to add: WELL DONE ADMIN for getting the site sorted nice and fast. Richard
  5. After looking at the post by new member 'wax' McAfee Tracked 3 trojans on my comp. Richard
  6. It is on small simex ET's (9.5 wide) with offset rims and the lock stops wound off so it has much better lock than a standard 90. It has taken a while to get it set up properly. I did an RTV with the Essex LRC a few months back and got less penalty points than anyone else but the 90 does not meet thier spec due to the dislocating suspension so I was not eligible for the trophies. Richard
  7. Great pictures. Looks like a good day out. The weather was a bit different when we were up in North Wales earlier in the year: Richard
  8. Great day out in Epping. Nice friendly group as well. Monthly trials in and around Harlow and Dunmow area. /plug mode off/ Richard
  9. I'd bet the depreciation is a bit less as well. Richard
  10. Cheers Will, It is a Proton colour but I'm not sure which. I asked the guy who sprays the busses to do it G4 orange, but then thought it may not be bright enough so asked for it 'a bit lighter'. First outing will not be for a while. Just playing while I get used to it as it is set up completely different to our other 90 that we use for trialling. Plus its not finished yet. It will not be light. With just the cage and portals is was a shade under 2 tons. I am going to start a new thread under members vehicles instead of hijacking this one any more. Richard
  11. Cool idea. B) I have lost count of how many times while playing I have got to the top of a steep hill to find someone charging up the other way. The camera would give you a much better idea of whats in your bonnet-blind spot. Richard
  12. Hi Mark I will be trimming the wings and fitting plasma. I still have to wire the winches up and I have a list of 27 other jobs to do. The cage was done by Protection and Performance to my spec, but they offer the wing protectors as an option on any cage I think. I like the way you can't really see the back axle in the origional pic due to the portals. When its done I'll put an entry in the members vehicles. Richard
  13. So, on a lighter note, what do you think of the colour TAZ90, that I am working on? B) or or Richard Sorry for the thread hijack.
  14. Hi Les Like Colon, Garry glitter. Your comment was more humerous though. Just wanted to get my view point in. I have stayed out of the consistant slagging off so far as I like and have used both companies. However people feel about companies I am not sure a public forum is the place to start getting personal, although the comments had not got that bad.... ....yet. Even though I do not agree with some people on this forum with respect to some topics, I do like the fact that it is an independant place where they can be discussed. I just felt it was in danger of going too far. Richard
  15. Ouch Either of those would have paid for a new 110 outright. Richard
  16. Before we start I have bought from Scorpion AND X Eng. I have positive experiances with BOTH. Don't you think that on a public forum resorting to personal name calling is a bit sad? Richard
  17. But did you find that it had any character Will? I went for a 110 because they do have character. Other cars like the sport just seem boring to drive by comparison and after six months I would want to change it which would not be a good idea with the depreciation they suffer. The sport is a nice looking car, but having driven a TDV6 they feel the same as nearly every other large car on the road. I would have to have the diesel for the miles I do. Richard PS. Does anyone else feel that a disco based cheaper RR has devalued the RR brand?
  18. Some think the TD5 relies too much on electrics, but they have now been building them for about 8 years and as far as I am aware there have not been that many problems. The pre 2002 models do have a slightly jerkier throttle, and do not have the later modifications of the dash pod and the one piece rear door which are very minor improvements. I do prefer my 300TDi for serious offroading where deep water will be found, but that is a personal preference. For regular use though I much prefer my TD5. Richard
  19. Hi Nick I would be doing the Clubman events but every single date clashes with something else for me this year. First date I was in Wales, second Croatia and third is the LRE holiday week I think. Maybe next year if it is still going. Also well done in trying to keep the X-Eng/Scorpion issue out of this post. It failed though. Richard
  20. Hi Steve. Hope you all had a great day. I sent a PM late Feb/early March to say I was away on Hols so could not make it. It was replied to. Typical though, event 30 miles from me and I am 1,000 miles away. Richard
  21. I got one of those as well, but they were swamped with UK entries so it is a way of choosing who they allow on the event. Oh well Richard
  22. If you put on the castor corrected arms you may need a wider angle front prop as well. My 90 did, but some get away with it. Richard
  23. They have been very responsive to my emails. They are just in the process of checking to make sure a standard 16" 303 rim fits over the disc conversion for my axles. I think some of thier pics are with 18" rims. I hope it does Richard
  24. I personally don't buy at Sodbury, but even stuff you buy off the classifieds on this forum, the back of the magazines or a salvage yard could be stolen. When you buy an electrical object and the wired have been cut rather than unplugged would you be suspicious? Should Sodbury be closed as some stolen stuff is sold there, sounds a lot to me like lets ban offroaders from greenlanes as some are irresponsible. But maybe thats just me. Richard
  25. To be honest it is a bit of an open question. Yes, they can last for 300,000 miles plus but a lot depends on how they are looked after. Don't bother to service them, run them low on water and get them hot and you will start to see that life expectancy drop. I bought a pick up that had a new engine and turbo fitted by LR at 87,000 miles. The rest of the car was great but the company driver had never checked the oil or water. It was topped up at services. When buying a station wagon though I would be more interested in condition than milage provided it runs well which yours does. The later station wagons suffer badly with corrosion/reaction around the rear tub and door frames which is not cheap to put right properly. Even rough ones seem to fetch good money though. I looked at a 110 the same colour as yours up north and it was one of the worst 110s I have ever seen with dented panels, gaps in the roof where the water was pouring in, smashed alloys and a knackered turbo. He still wanted just under £8k on a P reg. I never knew you could grow that much mould in a defender. Richard
