To be honest if your truck was an early one or a special edition then yes keep all the bits. But as yours appears to be nothing special (no offence) then modding it to suit your needs make sense. Yours is of an age where the value is the value the only real difference is saleablity. If your tasteful this won't be a problem either.

Nice pics.
Re- the windscreen most older cars only had toughened screens. Laminated became widespread in the 70s so it's probably original.

I bought an aluminium one off eBay(200tdi), the radiator itself is fine and work well. However after fitting it I started having low oil pressure issues, it turned out where the spigot's for the oil cooler were welded on they had only drilled 5mm holes into the tank. I've since opened them up to 9.5mm and all issues have gone away. So worth checking before you fit it.

Finally managed to get a new windscreen cut this week. So out with the toughened screen in with a laminated replacement today. That should be safer and it better not leak with the amount of goo round it.

The n/a version is a choke cable with a bracket and lever on the pump. I have one on ours but haven't modified it to fit the 200tdi.

If I remember correctly bfg specifies an 8 inch rim for that size of tyre. I think it's to do with the way the tyre moves on the rim in side loads (cornering).

Don't worry Ross the bend will just make it look like you have far to many tools and it weighs a tonne..

Lol yep I've been there a few times .... was thinking I might still use the wrong one on the other side of the X brace to bolt the trans tunnel too
In that case make two opposite hand brackets then.

Most of the kits come with the tensioner but not the idler (disco 200tdi).

I have a spare engine, gear box (only fits the ibex though) and now a transfer box. Oh and steering box that will fit either the 110 or ibex.
Mike

I've had them in the past but always ended up changing them for muds. But they seemed to wear and grip ok.

Well that's the transfer box changed just need a test run now. The original ones input bearings have died. I'm planning to replace the bearings, gaskets and seals on the original one and keep it as a spare.

This one was originally red with a black rim so not much better.
The wheel is a mach 5 beadlock wheel this one has a clamp ring sandwiched between the outer rim and main wheel. The other 4 have the clamp ring welded to the main part of the wheel and it's just the outer rim that bolts on.

George, I had a whine on the ibex it stopped when you knocked the t-box and gearbox in neutral but returned. However if you ran through the gears in t-box neutral it got louder. Turned out to be t-box input bearings found by removing the input gear and running the engine in gear.

Has anyone got contact details for the overland cafe on lewis. The web site wasn't working last time I looked. I'm going up that way this year and would like to pop in on pads and nelli.
