I'm 6'3" so roof space is precious to me. I've done;
Tunnels
Dashes
Roofs
Door cards
Seats
Bike parts
Lots of silly little plastic cars
All in grp but not roof consols.

Thanks Mike and Dave, was looking for both yours but neither turned up in Google search for some reason.
It took me ages to find it. Don't know why it even has sankey in the tittle.
You never know one day I might start the overland caravan project.

Here's mine.

Some concrete companies have part loads to get rid of. So if you can do short notice you may be able to assist them in having a hole ready.

The nastiest one is the disco but if that was done well I really like the concept.

It's laminated so it not like it will shatter into a million bits.

For those that are interested the roof is on the next leg of the journey. A short trip around the south of England then across the channel.
Bon voyage.

A restoration/build is not necessarily about reconditioning or repairing everything. All the cars I've built (Yes I'm in double figures now) have been built on a shoe string therefore anything that is serviceable gets left alone. It does mean the end result is no better than a good second hand car. But hey I drive an ibex that cost me the same as the kit alone would of cost me if I bought it from the factory. I've also had several of my dream cars, yes I have to fix them from time to time that I wouldn't need to if everything was reconditioned but I can't afford that.
So yes you are doing a full restoration, don't sell yourself short your doing a better job than most on a tiny budget.

Strap it to a jack as zardos says. That way you can go up, down, in and out with ease.

The blue connector is used to connect the bulkhead loom to the two rear looms that go over the doors to the rear of the car on a discovery so I assume a rangie too. Which leads me to think the white goes to the doors probably electric windows and or mirrors. The black maybe central locking or possibly the other way round. Wire colours would confirm or debunk this.

A mate of mine stood in the car park and booked on line then walked past the queue and straight in.

To be fair both the knobs hail from the 80's so they haven't done bad and I'm a fix if I can kind of guy.

Well I had a good day. It was great to meet several off the forum. I managed to pick up some bits and bobs mainly for the wife's truck

I don’t think the Fibre replaces rebar entirely
I agree with Ross. My brother used it in his last garage and it cracked hence I used rebar in mine.

I took the rubber part out then drilled some dents into the inner walls. I then filled it with epoxy and drilled and tapped it when cured. This worked so well I did both t-box and gearbox knobs on both trucks

No. Disco alternators are opposite hand to Defenders. In addition, the space available on a Defender is much smaller.
I stand corrected however you can just split the casing and rotate to change the handing. The britpart upgrade kit looks to be the same as the Mondeo alternator but the other hand so the case will need to be split and rotated.

My picture is a standard disco engine fitted in a early 110. Belt and alternator position are standard but alternator is a Ford item. Air filter is a disco filter in a custom position and mount. As stated the defender 200tdi is different. The alternator is low down, the turbo is high, intake is below the exhaust manifold and the belts run a different route. The op asked for an alternator fitted to a different car that would fit. The ford alternator will fit (top bolt and pulley require alterations) a disco 200tdi and should fit a defender because as far as I know the alternator is the same on both engines.

Not sure what the pulley used here was and you may need spacers to line the belt up. Please remember to up grade the cable from the alternator to the starter.

Wheel arch to mudflap extension bracket wotsits.
You need to get out more. Spot on
. Although there'll be no mud flaps here.
There is a gap between the foot well and A panel. Therefore all the carp off the tyre gets fired straight up there and dumped on the heater and master fuse box.

For anyone that's interested I plan to be at Newbury for around 9am. If you want to have a nose poke and chat before the buyer gates open I'll be somewhere in the main car park (shouldn't be to hard to find me though).

There is a Mondeo alternator that fits the disco 200tdi (you need to sleeve or drill out for the top bolt and change the pulley) but I don't know if it fits a defender 200tdi.
Bosch 90 Amp alternator from 2.0 Zetec engine. Bosch Part number 0 123 212 001 Ford Ref: 93 BB-10300-AG

Definitely buy it. There's been a couple of 6x6 on eBay recently. There's a restored sandringham at £32k, a rangie fire truck tatty £6k, another rangie with no rear body £3.5k and some tidy defender base at plus £40k. I think as bowie says £6k is a good starting point.
