I can't help with import but you can register it here as long as you have documentation to proof origin of the major parts this will land you with an age related (if you have enough parts from one vehicle) or a Q plate. Either way you will need an IVA test. This is not impossible but you may need to make some changes to get it through.

Finally got round to replacing the hose clips with dislocation cones it seem foers rear spring seats can take both 6 and 7 inch springs which means the disco/90 cones TSD gave me fit straight in.
I'll test them tomorrow.
On another note looks like if I want the spare wheel on the back I'll need a swing away as it would sit over the door handle to allow the door to open to 90°.I guess it's staying inside for now. When I drop to 33's I may revisit this as I could stand a 33 up on the wheel arch inside or I might go the draw route.....decisions.

What bowie said. If you want a camping trailer buy a trailer and convert it. I'm planning to build a caravan based on a box trailer chassis to avoid the IVA issue.

Most of us on here are so disillusioned with britpart that they could offer a 10 year warranty. The trouble is after 20 years of stuff that doesn't fit, work or breaks/ wears out way before time you just don't bother. I tend to use bearmach or genuine (when I can afford it). I have used britpart but only for an inanimate part that I can't get or afford else where. Warranty's are great but agro and the fact the the dealer is normally the one that looses out put me off. Just my two pence worth.

If your going standard do yourself a favour and get some take off's from eBay etc. I would check they came off the same model ie station wagon, pick up etc. The fronts are normally handed. I'd even consider new take off shocks. Gen land rover will last year's. S#@tpart have a very bad reputation and many wouldn't touch them with a barge pole. To be honest they would probably fail the day the warranty expired.

That's the stuff it's great for temporary moulds. It's how I made the tunnel for my ibex.

If you use corex (like corrugated card but plastic) I think it's called protex in wicks. You can lay fibreglass straight onto it and it will peel off after cured. It does leave a rippled finish but you can sand, fill, fair and then paint it afterwards.

I've got standard lr springs on the ibex with pro comp shocks. The 110 had standard springs and shocks until I fitted the winch now it has hd front springs.

I would like to do some sort of roll cage based affair similar to your 109 but alas that's beyond my means at the moment. I have been looking at rexroth and cargo track but just can't fix a definite idea in my mind. I guess I haven't quite seen what I want yet. Maybe I just need to get some tube bent.

MOT passed today although I did have to do two track rod ends and the A frame bushes beforehand.
I'm trying to decide whether to put the spare wheel on the back door. It's currently inside which takes up a lot of room. Another option was some sort of draw for it where it drops out of the bottom.
The other project is some sort of roof bars but I want them low profile. I did toy with some D3/4 rails but I need 2.2m

The ibex tube is straight which will help. I agree that freespool is compromised a little.

I run plasma on mine so it pretty much fills the tube. TSD's ibex has been on the road a lot longer than mine. Tube wear doesn't seem to be a problem but it's at least 2mm wall probably 3mm. He has had one or two issues with mud in the tube but only when left to dry for a few weeks . The tube run on mine is quite long (118" wheelbase) so freespool doesn't work that well anyway but it's fine winching out if a little slower.

Regarding self spooling - I looked at this in the past for a centre mounted rear winch with a rear fairlead on a 90. To get the correct fleet angle (technical term ) I think the winch had to be something like 15 feet from the fairlead!
If you search the forum for "fleet angle" there are a few references to enjoy.....
I was quoted 1.2m which is a little less than mine. However mine spools on and off with no problem (just as well as the winch is hidden under the second row seats).
As Ross says mid mount winch facing backwards round a pulley in the rear crossmember (foers use a snatch block but I wanted a fixed pulley). From there to another pulley mounted in the chassis, then through a tube to the front. So a slightly offset single line pull at the front and in my case a snatch block is added at the back for a double line rear pull. There are various other funky things you can do with it for instance cable car and side pull. It's a good system but not best suited for comps.

I had something similar on the back of 45. The caliper had become worn allowing the brake pad to drop through the caliper more than it should. The metal part of the pad was touching the top hat part of the disc and had machined a groove 4mm wide and 3mm deep. When I discovered it the disc broke in two on disassembly. I would be willing to bet this is what has happened to you so I would recommend you check you calipers.

I used an 8000lb winch on the front of 45 at Ladoga so that would be perfect. The ibex has a centre mounted 9000lb running through the vector system (worth looking at) to both rear and front.
