  1. Chicken ! Throw away the bananas and get hold of a Eaton M112 and some MS, dont know if your old lt95 can handle it ?
  2. Went along and one off the first things I saw was a nicely patinaed 110 towing the squarestream. Offcourse it was Mrs and Mr mmgemini. Its was nice meeting them and seeing the squarestream in the fless. Did you know that they camped overnight in it before the show! I was impressed. Loved talking to the both of you. The show it self was missing some of the interesting/innovating companies and there were a little to mutch of no connection 4x4. Meet Mrs and Mr Idris, seems to be a habit when we go, but nice as ever. Also got to know Chris Booth and his lovely wife. Chris was wearing his blue shirt for the day or was it black? Bought a diff of Chris, but I only had it for 10 min. Before Nigel took it as it was the 50th made by him, so they had to spend some time together. Nigel did promise to post it to me though, well time will have to tell. Talked to Simon R at Nigels stand, cant remember saying goodbye to him, so here you have it "Good bye Sir" Talked to Malcolm Whitbread about his new pets also went by and talked to the lovely Christine and her Malcolm from North Offroad. Did see some challenge wings on sale for little money, but having bought and fitted one of the ones from North, then I would say that they are worth every penny. Fits nicely and it does come with wingtops and panels. Top kit. Jim Marsden answered my questions regarding some specifiq details on his roll cage, turns out it was standard details for a Puma cage, so not as exotic as one thought. So not the best of shows but I loved meeting you guys, certainly worth the trip. Hope I havent missed anyone out. Morten
  3. Thanks That looks doable. You're right it is a LR with Defender doors, so will have to do some triming.
  4. If thats possible, then a picture wouldd be nice. Its a cage we're going to build.
  5. As I remember from the picture, there they where placed in a small piece of sheetmetal horizontaly in the panel beside the instruments.
  6. Hi Some time a go I saw a picture on the web, showing to relocate the knobs for the heater in a Defender, when installing an internal rollcage. Does any of you know of a clewer sollution to this problem or maybe of said picture ? Morten
  7. Si What happened to the idea of makeing an better working heater for the Defender ? Realy miss that ;-) Morten
  8. Ahh Thought you were using wide arms and narrow bushes. THanks for the reply and sorry about the high jack. M
  9. Daan What are your thoughts on using the narrow with a narrow bush in a widearm axle. Some spacers might be needed either side ? Morten
  10. Happy Chrismas to you all. Celebrated yesterday, as we do here in Denmark. Rain all day long. Woke up this morning to 4" of snow. The daugter is mighty happy and Im looking forward for a ride in the 110" later.
  11. Hi The Rover rearaxle housing - are they all the same ? I know that the early RRC's hat the shockmounts placed differently from side to side, but apart from that. If I look at alle the housings for Disc's from 80's til TD5 - are they alike ? Next one. If I were to change my rearaxle on the 110" (Sallisbury with disc's). Could I go for a Rover typer rearaxle with a 4-pin diff from a Def. V8 - this mod in order to try and make it stronger ? Thanks Morten
  12. Cough cough dusty cough cough.... I'm back and it's time to continue this. The last 18 months havs been a little busy and not much has happened with the car. I've been hung up on my carpenter-company, building cages, challengewings and crossmembers for others. A 100" Defenderprojejkt has also gotten some attention. Moving garage and being submitted to the hospital three times (Once in Exeter of all places) doesnt speed up the proces either. Remember the altered Light Weight bulkhead I made for the 200 TDI ? (If not, look above) Well as I went for V8 instead, among other things, ment I had to reconstruct the bulkhead. I ended up going another route and build som bars into the cage and made my own alifootwells, which will be bolted to this frame. And the footwell. And from another angle. And some of the detail close to the exhaustmanifol. Most of the footwells are made of a ordinary soft ali, but the part behind the pedals and facing the wheel is made of 6083 in 2 mm. to withstand stones and othe stuff being thrown by the tyres. To be continued in the not to distinct future. M
  13. Do any of you know how good the Karsons half shafts are ? Are they made of britpartcheese or something better ? Morten
  14. As per title. Which one is the prefered one ? Have tried the skin pins but not the Cleco. Does the Cleco pull hard enough ? Pros and cons please. Morten
  15. Ive been bending cages for the last couple of years without bt, and have just been drawing the cages on plywood. Then made the bends from that. But as mentioned earlier with some problems. Looking forward to get my copy of B.T. this thread has opened mly eyes towards it posibillities. Thanks Morten
  16. Hi I know little about the Bend Tech. The way I understand it then you start bending from one end towards the other ? And not from the midle and towards each side, say like bending a main or front hoop. Which version of Bend Tech would you suggest ? Thanks Morten
  17. As you might have noticed then the windscreen and doorpillar isnt in the same plane (?). I start in the top center and then makes the two topbends for startes. Then have to make a rotation before doing the second bend, the one in line with the vents. This one is the tricky one. Of the top of my head I believe its 8 or 9 degrees rotation. You also have to keep calm and make sure that you bent it the right direction. One side is a little easyer than the other. If you bender is placed horizontaly and you are starting from the top center, then you stand isnt tall enough to make the last bend. My sollution to this is to mount the bender upside down on its stand, keep a clear head and make the last bend. This kind of fronthoop, is to me the most challenging to bend ! Good luck. Morten
  18. Hi Nige I can get the meassurements from a 300, but cant tell from the picrures exactly where to look. If nobody else can get the 200/TD5 then I can get that as well.
  19. Well, the chassis and whats left of the body IS a Range Rover. Its when I use Calvin and other vin decoders that it shows 110" proto type.
  20. Interesting. I've got 117611 on the chassis and V5. All I get is proto 110" ?
  21. How and where do I decode a 6-digit VIN-number on a Range Rover. The car might be from '82 but I'm not certain about this. Thanks Morten
  22. Mr. Frigdefreezer Where should one be looking for a LS1 engine and whats the going rate ? Thanks Morten
  23. As above, but with a twist. I need a lift for two persons to go from Sidmouth, Devon to Stansted on sunday the 22 of june ! Due to health issues. Any takers ? Morten
  24. Hi Instead of using grease, try soaking page of old newspaper in water and use these as press material. And of course a socket, this doesnt have be super tight due to the texture of the wet paper.
  25. Thanks The 88x44,5 rings a belle from earlyer on. Unfortunatly I havent got a complete rearcrossmember lying around, hence asking here. Still would apreciate the hight of these holes from the bottom of the crossmember. Is in the process of building a heavyduty crossmember. Thanks Morten
