Perhaps the 'proper' defender driver wouldn't have been overtaking on the inside of a truck and therefore avoided the incident entirely.
Very poor driving -the Mazda had no reason to expect there would be a vehicle there travelling at such speed.
American lane use seems to follow very different rules... ie none.
Still shouldn't be changing lanes without properly checking the mirrors.

There's the Pomerania trophy in Poland, good fun (but cold). Breslau too. And a few others in eastern Europe.

Yeah, just looked it up myself. Ouch indeed.

A friend recently fit the OME BP-51s. From what I've heard he's happy with them.

Most things that are hybrid or electric don't seem to be able to tow as much as the ICE equivalent
That's why I ordered the GLE hybrid. Tows 3500kg as long as you option the air suspension.

Oh, that one is very interesting!

Even my old Waeco has a LO and HI setting for how far it'll allow the voltage to drop. I've never had it trigger.

Aargh! Now I'm stuck - I tried to make it as simple as possible, no moving parts, so it could survive a few years in a wet landy. On the other hand, I really like that idea, and straight away I start schemeing ways it could be done
As it stands now, it does have the option for a couple of external button inputs, but I haven't made any use of them so far.
There is also a single 'tap the screen here' input option, but I've not even populated the circuit board for that.
Sorry

Fancy
I wonder if a rotatable ring (like on a watch face) would be a nice way to switch between which gauges are displayed in case you have more sensors hooked up to a gauge.

Hi, and thanks! The Bosch units are fairly readily available i believe. They're still manufactured by Bosch and sold directly in the aftermarket, so you can buy a genuine Bosch MAF for £100 or so. Additionally, Bosch tend to use the same internal element across quite a few different cars, so even if the P38 specific bosch unit became unavailable, you'd be able to find something that used the same core and swap it. (for reference the Thor P38 uses F00C2G2029 as its sensor element, used in many BMW's of the era)
As a result the situation for Thor models is much less of a problem. Unfortunately the GEMS/Lucas 20AM was used on early P38's and some Jags and thats it. The only aftermarket offerings are cheap knockoff units which have a very poor reputation.
I realise that, mainly meant that it would've been a whole lot easier if the curve had just been in the manual like it is for the Bosch

Looks like a nice little trip

I've been eyeing those. Our lidl sells them in the online shop.

I checked the ebay ad, and noticed it had a remap. Im wondering if that has any play here.
Maybe. Is it a proper remap or a power box? Could be the gearbox is receiving data that's out of range of what it's expecting.

Think we are messing with each other lol
Give me enough notice when you're in country and I'll knock you one up and post it to wherever your at regards Stephen
Thanks, vaguely planning on being up your way at some point this year - would love to come by!

Not at all, just messing with you.
Honestly the main reason I didn't bid, didn't even want to imagine what they'd want for shipping that to Belgium. Plus my mailman might give me the stinkeye for a few months.

Hey All, thanks for the comments back, ok i'll try and lay out what's happened so far. On Dec 31st, the truck developed a 'transmission' issue. We called the AA who gave us a readout of a P0929 and P0928 (open circuit / rounded circuit)
The truck went into a local garage, who then asked us to send it to a land rover specialist (someone with land rover software, access to land rover helpline, etc.) We know that other garage, they are sent land rovers from all over the local area because they are the local specialists. There is no question on their competency.
The gearbox was bench tested, it was identified with the help of Land Rover, that the Transmission Control Module was at fault.
A module was purchased, it was replaced. The truck did 30 miles, and the problem re-emerged. We also replaced the gear selector switch to rule out the selector solenoid.
Land Rover helpline continued to point to the transmission control module. The garage also called the 6 speed ZF manufacturer (they did tell me name but i forget), who were very surprised that not one, but 2 modules have failed.
I sourced a third module, we have replaced it again, all the wiring has been checked and rechecked multiple times, the garages electrician has spent the better part of 2 weeks on and off the checks.
I got the car back today, after 35 miles I felt a surge, and yet again a 'transmission issue' - the car goes into limp mode. It happens as I accelerated.
I've spent 4 figures trying to fix this problem and cannot believe i'm no further forward. I was hoping to see if anyone had a similar experience or could at least point us in the right direction, but both land rover and the gearbox people are also a little stumped.
I'm very close to giving up at this point.
Sounds to me like something in the gearbox is causing the modules to burn out maybe?

This thread might work better with a more descriptive title, and in the International forum.
As for Minis, @miketomcat is your man. At least for silly things based on Minis

Ah, that's not the best of news. Let's hope it's nothing bad and we can enjoy your work for many years to come!

If you have the time and feel so inclined, I think a YouTube channel with this sort of fabrication would probably work very well.
Unless you secretly already have one and this is you :
