  3. Cheers reb , need quite a few sets of subaru calipers refurbed , will try them tomorrow,
  4. No western is right if they are all individually insulated then no probs here, make sure the loom isnt chaffing on chassis/body if its been moved at all
  5. To be honest I havent fitted a set of stainless pistons for a customer for quite a while. If you were planning to keep vehicle for 10 years or more its a very sensible idea
  6. A slightly faulty maf would not be picked up as an error code but it might show up using live data (during diagnosis) the map sensor output can be seen using live data again . Is there anyone you can try swapping components with ? it makes diagnosis much quicker. Does anyone have any diagnostic equipment near you ?
  7. Biggest single cause I get on most vehicles ( not just landies) is the tow sock electrics, usually either the plug or the wiring going to it,,, hope this helps ,, to find out disconnect the rear harness and see if it still blows fuses
  8. I`ve has the allmakes ones supplied for customers and the drilling hasn`t been correct on them, actually I had to return a set for my 90 as the pins were drilled too close to caliper body not allowing pins to fit, also had to clean up threads on other. Lockheed ones are always spot on oem quality
  9. I`ll take a trip to foundry and try the metal ones ,, was hoping they fit as really I need some protection to rear. Those bumperettes look a little lethal if you reverse into something !!
  10. Please remember you`ll have to inform insurance of lpg, they will ask for certificate off installer to ensure it is done right. You can ask local installer to check your work if needs be. Also inform dvla of dual fuel. Lastly tell the mot tester, its a much kinder test for lpg compared to petrol unless car is pre cat when test is same. I`ve run an lpg jeep around the country dleivering and collecting vehicles. I found I ended up on petrol quite often as many stations were simply empty
  11. Anyone know what light guards will fit the rear of my def 90 , Ive fitted NAS spec rear lights but not flush fitted them. They are fitted in the holders supplied by bolt on bits. They are all fitted in roughly the normal positions allowing for some slight movement to align them with the body sides etc. Any help would be appreciated !!
  12. Look in your yellow pages or do a search for a local shot/bead blasting company. It surprised me to find 3 or 4 around me that I didn`t know about. Talk to them and you`ll usually find them already cleaning quite a few car parts for private customers
  13. if not a garage try your local battery supplier like a independent car parts seller , all of our local ones have bosch battery condition meters which as per previous post test a battery properly.
  14. That is actually cheaper than we can buy them for - trade price - I`m thinking about one now a well !! Cheapest big battery we get is a vauxhall 65 Ahr for £54
  15. We`ve fitted a few sets of britpart yellows to discos and not had any complaints about hard ride. Not noticed it ourselves. Seen quite a bit of variation in the bearmach ones
  16. usual panels supplier to trade is hadrian panels , imperial panels , used to be spi ltd etc
  17. Thanx will pick one up tomorrow if poss.
  18. mondeo 1 2 or 3 ,,, petrol diesel ??? air con or standard ?? Honest it easier for me to ask now than go to my local scrapyards and have to remove them :D M local scrappies are the take off yourself but only charge you £10 type of people
  19. Does anyone know what electric fan fits best on a 200 tdi defender - I was hoping to be able to get either a single or double unit to fit off a car but was sure someone has done this before. I read somewhere that a mk 3 mondeo fan system fits quite easily ??? Anyway I was hoping to save myself some time and trips to the scrappie.
  20. we`ve removed two sets of locking nuts this week , in the garage , I won`t go into the details but they aren`t hard to remove really. Different methods and tools required for each type . Some loose the nut while most are where the locking nut breaks due to it being overtightened in the first place
  21. if this is true then there`s alot of q plate landies yet to come
  22. If one was brought in for mot to me then I`d be very dubious and would check the regulations carefully as I would feel it would not be fit for purpose. Definitely get an advise off me but really should be a fail
  23. well remembered western ,,, I only remember as I removed one of the winches off one of these, it was a few years ago ,,,
