  1. I did it with my Luton body by welding box section underneath and then making legs that slide in on each corner with a wind up trailer leg attached. The Luton is probably heavier in the first instance (14ft long) and it normally has 3 kayaks, 3 bikes, fridge, 2 Thule kayak racks and a heavy Thule bike rack in the back and I can easily mount and demount it with that weight in. It sits on the legs 99% of the time and not on the trailer.
  2. Came across this and thought they actually look great. Also loads of new shape Defender wheel sets kicking about with brand new tyres going cheap
  3. I put this on the tubular parts of my tree sliders nearly 3 years ago and it has stayed on and worked well. Put the same on the 110 I just rebuilt as it works so well
  4. Always had a hankering for a 300tdi Disco commercial. None about as nice as that now
  5. I think this will be a fun build. Also reminds me of the demountable body I built
  6. Thanks. Will have a dig around before I start pulling the door card off
  7. Are they in the door in the D2? or does the plug come unplugged at the control module
  8. Discovery 3 Airbag/SRS light on. Fault code B0096-81 Right side restraints sensor 1. A google suggests this is in the right hand (drivers in the UK RHD) front door. Has anyone had this issue? My plan is to try and find the sensor and unplug it to see if the code stays them same
  9. Looks good. You won't know until you flex it again but is there any risk of the rear part hitting the tyre and the tyre then ripping it off? Might need a slight trim?
  10. What about Dibond sheet? Can normally pick a load up second hand cheaply from building sites where they use them for signage etc and then using your skills you could make a die to form them in the shape you want and make a couple of sets up for when/if you bend them. They are light, stiff and strong. The Alu faces can also be easily painted
  11. The cherry picker is still on the DVLA website but no change of owner since 1991 and not taxed since then either. Interestingly by that point was a 3,336cc Diesel. Perkins 4.203?
  12. Not sure they would work very well in the square shape of the lightweight arches though? Unless they do them in different shapes like the ones you can get for double axle trailers?
  13. Both are great for the right jobs. I do prefer the 4 poster with a landy though as most jobs the access is decent due to the layout
  14. I think it looks fine and prefer the cut now rather than the blue line cut. Will it need additional support/bracing in warmer weather though? I think it may sag in the summer I think the MOT rules are 1 inch of tyre exposed maximum but am sure someone will be able to clarify
  15. I would say this is a subjective question as views will differ. Axle wise it is going to worth considering upgrading Diffs, halfshafts, CV's and drive members. Take a look at the Ashcroft transmissions site to get an idea on uprated parts that are most commonly used for competing using large tyres. After that it is going to be down to what transfer box and gearbox you use behind the LS
  16. Same - never had a problem with the cold. Gets addictive keeping the process going!
  17. Excuse the quality as it was quicker to take pictures of the workshop laptop and screen shot them (Old XP toughbook that is not connected to the internet)
  18. Keswick green LHD Puma built 18 March 2008 Double cab pickup with grey vinyl trim. Full details to follow shortly! Looks like it was destined for France initially
  19. 4 - If you share the VIN number with me by PM I can let you know the details Land Rover hold on the build options that are saved in Microcat. Experience tells me this is either a huge amount of information or practically nothing!
  20. Thanks, from reading that I am pretty sure they are L322 wheels as others have had the same problem. Just never seen that style of wheel before
  21. Have done this on the challenge truck with some rebar on the rear brake lines. Works well and helps prevent them getting damaged
  22. As above I use MAPP gas for heating stuff up to bend or nuts that won't undo etc. Would never be without it now
  23. Not done anything yet. it is still sat on the trailer currently. Going to round up some m14 washers to see how much clearance it actually needs to clear the calliper as I am unsure if it is actually flat on the hub It is only touching the pad carrier.
