  1. We would be if you had put it in the correct thread 🤣🙈
  2. I would go for this option if I were you. If you are stopped then you can show your sticker and it is very unlikely they will delve further into the 2004 registration. Equally I think you will find the focus for Le Man will be on groups of sports cars who may be taking the P We drove Calais-Paris-Il de re-Rouen-Calais last September in an RS7 and Panamera and were expecting to get pulled at some point being obviously together and British plates. The Gendarmes paid us no notice
  3. I have had the WIPAC ones fitted for two years now. Pricey at £450 (I think) but I wanted to know the E markings were genuine and I was legal. They are absolutely excellent both on dipped and main beam. The light is not too white in my opinion and really makes driving at night in the Defender much more comparable to my L322. I drove my old mans 110 the other day with the WIPAC polycarbonate type with H4 bulbs and the difference was huge I don't regret buying them at all and I like the look of them and like the outside DRL. I know this is personal taste but then I also have the white letters on the outside of my tyres!! 🙂 https://www.wipac-led.com/find-out-more
  4. Tyres can be fun sometimes..... Ended up with the blade on one side, bucket on the other and a half hour session with the sledgehammer
  5. Those are fine for stabilising but not good for actually lifting the weight of the trailer as you have no leverage.
  6. That would be quite easy to make up with a bit of flat plate/bar. Having changed hundreds of tyres I can say that sometimes you need all the help you can get and that tool means you have all the force as close to the bead as possible. Granted most times the Hi Lift will work on its own but you can guarantee it wont when you really need it. I have an old semi automatic tyre changer at home and have been stuck with some tyres before. They were on Freestyle wheels but had a very soft sidewall meaning they just deformed instead of pushing the bead off. I admitted defeat in the end and went to my tyre fitters with their brand new swanky machines. Took they a few tries too and said that type of tyre with large pliable sidewalls can be an issue at times
  7. sounds like a good day to be in the garage with the wiring loom tidying it up.....
  8. Thanks all. I bought a Noco whilst it was on offer on amazon for £100. Has a 3 year warranty Will give it a try this weekend
  9. Further back in this I shared a picture of my removable box. The legs are fixed to box section which slide into bigger box section on the body. I made mine wide enough to easily reverse the trailer in each time but equally would allow the box to clear the wheels Edit - added picture
  10. Just watched the Harrys farm on this as per the link. Well worth watching. Very very interesting
  11. I have been caught out before by the clutch either being stuck or the master/slave seals having let go. It depends what you need to do with it - trailer home or are you hoping to drive?
  12. I only fit 1 of those 3 criteria - being tight and wanting to save money lol! Happy to spend £100 on something that will save me buying new batteries but obviously don't want to waste money if there is something just as good that is cheaper
  13. I have just realised that NOCO do smart chargers too and quite a bit cheaper than the CTEK. I have one of the 150AMP jump starts from them and use it every week. Has proven to be faultless https://www.amazon.co.uk/NOCO-GENIUS10UK-Fully-Automatic-Temperature-Compensation/dp/B0828H7PNP?ref_=ast_sto_dp Hmm decisions!
  14. Resurrecting this old thread. My £10 Halfords battery charger is no longer living up to its name and needs replacement. My use will be - Large LR sized normal batteries - Large AGM Batteries (Range Rover and Porsche) -Large old neglected batteries on the various tractors/forklift etc that sit around for ages getting discharged if I forget The current CTEK option that appears to match this remit is the MXS 7.0 UK. What would people recommend?
  15. I used mine for a bit and ran out of consumables and can confess to not remembering to order more. I did use it to cut a rotten front outrigger from a 110 which it did a good job of
  16. That would be awesome (if expensive). It is a pity they have not tried one with the 3.5v6 and that is a great engine in the much heavier F150
  17. I suspect (from the state of some of the vehicles I have seen in the Falklands in the past on the road) that the rules in the Falklands are not anywhere near as stringent as the UK or the states
  18. I have gone much further than this before realising there was no fuel. Sender had got hung up on the tank and showing 1/3 full, various symptoms of low on power, running poorly and then fine again, changed the lift pump and had thought the new one was also duff until I realised the tank was basically dry Sounds like good progress though
  19. I would run it home without the stat in and keep an eye on the temp gauge. Good luck
  20. On a more serious note. I am sure we can help if you get stuck 😀
