  1. Basic setup, no fancy bits like cage mounts or winch mounts is £1800+vat
  2. Sounds reasonable - however is a 90 TD5 chassis from Richards or similar going to be "a converted series one"????
  3. Finding a good 04 plate chassis isnt going to be very easy as most removed are bent ones, and i got one of them already! I just want ease of swap, i want to know itll fit without problems and mroe importantly i dont want the DVLA/VOSA being awkward about it afterwards. Richards Chassis also has the advantage of having the jigs for the rollcage mounts for North offroad so i can have it all buit to spec and then galv'd up in one go
  4. Because if i put an old chassis on it i'll end up on a Q plate, and turining an 04 into a Q is a financially bad move! As i have to have a new chassis when i get one fabricated itll be to my "spec" with winch rear crossmember etc.
  5. I'm after a chassis for my 90 TD5 and have been looking around and found the following: Richards Chassis @ £1060+ VAT - They seem very very knowledgable and helpful Paddocks @ £890+ VAT - Not nearly so knowledgable or helpful but loads cheaper! So are there any more chassis builders out there for "standard" galv chassis, if not who supplies the paddocks ones so cheap?
  6. Live and learn eh Lewis - thankfully you and your passenger are ok
  7. It seems that he was pretty busy last time i was trying to find him - shame as i want a cage built later this year too
  8. I dont have anything to add, but plan on doing a TD5 auto conversion on mine at some point so am watching with interest
  9. Hmm, water sprays on intercoolers do work but i've never seen it done on a landy! Have you considered a charge cooler instead? I agree with the "mist" into the intake charge, however its not somthing i would do without a proper kit tbh because its as you say pretty risky.
  10. Not the prettiest looking thing, but looks fairly strong. also, whats with the water bottle? on the front?
  11. Hmm, i hadnt thought about how i will move it when i find it...
  12. Is it possible to get new, or as new rear tub and bulkhead for a 90 pickup?
  13. As said above, simply select the boot device from the menu and itll boot from the correct drive. If the problem lie with 2 OS's being on 1 drive you need to write a boot batch file to give you a menu at startup.
  14. Set the "home hdd" as a slave and in the bios, as fridge said tell it to boot from IDE-0, presuming the work hdd is ide-0. If you find it boots to the wrong drive then change the boot order in the bios and itll boot into the other drive, then copy stuff off One thing though - why would you want XP on an E drive....itll make it seriously confusing/messy forever and ever with ti not being C!
  15. Is there anything OFFICIAL to confirm this rumor?? I shant be going to billing but was looking forward to kelmarsh.
  16. Hmm, i wouldnt have said common, it affected a number of very early TD5's but is pretty unherd of in later years.
  17. Cheers Will, I'll give them a call. The insurance company have an independant assesor visiting on monday to give his verdict too...
  18. Its under warranty because of the age so if its going to be repaired then it will be done by landrover who currently have the vehicle at their big bodyshop down here. If they write it off however i'd like to buy it, strip it and rebuild it as a nice off road truck
  19. Hmm, its got chassis damage but i rekon it should only be cat D, C at worse because its the labor cost that will make them squeel rather than it being unrepairable.
  20. With my 90 being possibly (quite likely) written off, how to insurance companies go about working out what the salvage is worth, and am i entitled to first refusal?
  21. One whole chassis rail has move rearwards a noticable ammount. I guess its down to the insurance company, the assesor is going over on monday to see it and decide so i will find out then. If they do write it off then i shall definatly ask about buying it back because it would be an ideal base for my new one
  22. Indeed, best get the T-cut colour tho to make the best job of it You might have a point there but i can see it causing just as many problems with insurance being difficult in the case of a write off, especially as i think i had just found a buyer too!
  23. I'm ok - very sore and got whiplash and numerous bruises but generally ok! I hit another vehicle (or 3), i was moving and it turns out they werent! Unfortunatly i have bent the chassis from the forces through the o/s chassis rail...made quite a mess complete front end, rad, intercooler and other engine bits mashed, stearing and some suspension bits mashed as well.
  24. Excellent, cheers for the info guys. Sadly i wrote my 90 off yesterday so will have to wait and see what happens!
