  1. Hi Folks I have settled for turning the whole gearbox, les complicated, have just been out taking maesures, there is plenty off room for lovering the box opposite the lower end off the transferbox and raising it at lower end. I will let you know how it all turns out. It is just so great with this forum. Thanks again Ole.
  2. Hi Tonk No there is plenty off room. Regards Ole.
  3. Hi 'rtbarton. I do not like the idea off tilting the engine, but why not tilt the whole g-box might be worth a thought, just cut and weld a new slot for the starter motor and drill some new holes for the bell housing. Will go and have a look at it. Regards Ole.
  4. Hi Bowie I do not think so, because I do run props that are close to 45 they are home made out off yoke from the front axle and som agricultural stuff. Regards Ole.
  5. Hi Bill It is a suff D main mated to an older One Ton transferbox, I could use the rear off mainbox as a toll to make a guide from to make a toll to drill the holes after. And yes the prop would not foul the bell housing as you say it will turn around the centerline off the main box. Regards Ole.
  6. Hi Folks While renovating the wiring harness in me LWT I found this link very usefull, an I thought I would share it with you, to some it might be common sense, but to others it migt be new knowledge so here it is. www.type2.com/library/electrip/bosterm.htm Kind regards Ole.
  7. Hi Folks. Had an idea today, in the weekend we where out on the last round off the danish Challenge Championship and we did belly out in quite a few places so we lost time winching. So while washing the damm thing it just stroke me what if one welded up the holes in the transferbox turned it sp that the bottom off the box was raised by 2" new holes drilled and off course there is also all the levers propshafts and so on to take care off. Not to mention the flor in the passenger side. Have I over looked something inside the or out side wich prevents me from doing so??? Kind regards Ole. PS.Here a link to some pictures from this weekend. http://picasaweb.google.dk/fn26321402/HighlandChallenge2007
  8. Hi Folks I think that the angel is close to 45 i have used a lot off yokes from snaped shafts to make up wide angel propshafts and they are way above 35 when finished, I use one LR yoke and one Agricultural yoke a bit off machining and so and presto hee one has chepo wide angel prop. I think you run into al sorts off other problems before the yokes are aproblem. Ole.
  9. Hi Folks I think Imust just sort off describe my setup, its a light LWT, TIC paras front and rear, Procomp chocks as per Gon2Far but not as solid, more race car like tovers out off 10x20mm tube.Home mad props out off agrieculturalstuff and some LR yokes. I can not run revolvers and I can not alter the spring mount to some pivoting type, ( MOT wiill not allow) so unles somebody has new ideas my last thing is to somehow do something to the longitudinal spring twist. So tell me where it is better to go and spend my 85£ so I get more travel. The problem is most pronounsed going up hill and some one have diged holes and cros axle comes in. since it is upwards there is not so much load on the springs to fully compres them.... result no contact with the ground. Ole.
  10. Link to the two I've found:http://www.alcanspring.com/orbit-eye.htm and http://deaverspring.com/BajaBushing.htm Hope It makes more sence with these links. Kind regards Ole.
  11. Hia Folks Just stumbled over these Orbit-eye things, looks very cool, but does it work and does anybody know if it can be done on a series vehicle or has an idea on how to do it. Kind regards Ole.
  12. Hi folks. It was/is fast, I was givin a quick spin down the road by Alvin himself way back in the beginning off the 90'ties, I have so far not yet been in such a quick "Comper" not even a rear engined V8 with 300+ fels like it. As far as I remember it had VW syncro driving gear, the uprights was 16v VW Golf ones i was told at that time. If I had the funds I would go get it. Kind regards Ole.
  13. Hi Folks. My being a "series" man this is all virgin ground to my, hence the question, how can one determine if a chassis is a 106" or a 100", are they completly the same, eccept for the legnth, ie is the rails same mesure hight and so? Regards Ole.
  14. Hi Al Could you also put me on the list, thanks. Kind regards Ole. PS as I am in DK I will pay the postage please PM me re the amonut.
  15. 'Hi Henry. Yes we are inded coming to BAJA we are flying over to Standstead wensday night and then we are going "places off interest to Race nutters" on thursday and during friday we will turn up, would like to pop buy and say hello. By the way our original plan was to bring a tent wil there be a camp site near by or are we better off finding a smal hotel. Kind regards Ole.
  16. Hi We have for 3 years beeen using two, I really do not know the korrekt word, but firemen usese them when they go into burning buildnings, it is two smaller bottles with 250bar and then the presure reg that they use is adjusted to 7bar wich gives us air for tyres and foremost our Airlockers. They are smaller than divers ones so they are easier to place. Kind regards Ole.
  17. Hi Fruit. We are coming over for the same purpose, see some race and some car builders, it is a short notice so I doubt that a lager event can be arranged but it could be exactly what we where looking for, we are going to see North for the D-lander, Bowler and The Tom Cat people, we are looking for something build on a std or slightly modifyed chassis otherwise we wont get it on the road in DK and that we have to as our events are like a normal rally with transport legs on public roads and then timed SS in quarrys woods and farmingland, so it has to be 100% road legal with all the mods written in the vehichles papers. By the does anybody with a D-lander live within reasonable distance off the venue?? Kind regards Ole.
  18. Hi Jules. Yes we (me & sun.. me winchmonkey) are coming to watch, we should be in the area from sometime a round friday until it ends sunday. Kind regards Ole.
  19. Hi All Members of HOFS. Cong with the new wbsite a bit easier to navigate abit doring though (in the lay out) but you can get everything can you. Regards Ole.
  20. Hi Mo We Have had good use off the 2 seconds one from these guys :http://www.quechua.com/ It is now 3 years old and stil keeps heayv rain out has been used aprox 4 weeks each year with out any problems ours is the 80cm diameter, wich is the only drawback when traveling by air, in the truck it fits neatly up under the roof. Kind regards Ole.
  21. Hi Mo Yes that might be one off the most profittable items to do, Kind regards Ole.
  22. Hi Fridge..... I know but is was merely a sort off proff that it is the cavitation that is the problem, he ran a filter in the return to the tank so it was only that part that was filtered and then hi had a large oilcooler somewhere in the system. I would prefer to have it so that the components is either desingned to do the job or modifyed to do it. This guy is right now using a piston pump from VOLVO it wil cope with 5600 rpm and is then driven direkt on the crank, but the price tag is not nice almost 700£. Kind regards Ole.
  23. Dear Santa. I wish a complete body for a LWT series II !!! seriously wonder how much that would be, could do with just doorcladings in Carbon/kevlar but the rest wings bonnet and the rear tub would be nice in that material. Reason is it would match the Alu chassis that is being made this coming winter. Kind regards Ole.
  24. Hi I just wish taht my airlocker could be operated in that way, I just love when one can keep things simple. Kind regards Ole.
  25. Hi Spoke to Magam contender yesterday, hi had succesfully been running a 3300 rpm pump at 4500 by force feeding it from the return with a presure regulator so that the feed presure was 40bar's, worth thinking off. Kind regards Ole.
