  1. looking for some cranked front radius arms to set the steering right on my rangie (2" lift) looked at the qt ones, but not sure whether radius arms are the best place for weight savings. any others out there that someone could recommend (i.e. has extensively tested and not broken :D )

    regards

I had the QT ones fitted on my last challenge truck for a couple of years without issue.

  2. I love driving all defenders from 90's to 130's. There's something about the driving position that and style that I connect with. Unfortunately my other half didn't feel the same way. I was gutted when I recently had to sell my 90, but the long and short of it was that it just wasn't practical for the ever increasing mileage I was doing. When combined with the fact that my dogs go everywhere with me and we will soon be starting a family the car I immediately chose was a TD5 disco. I really enjoy driving the disco (just not as much as the 90) but the saving grace is that SWMBO enjoy's driving it too (bank those brownie points) and it does really well on the practicallity stakes.

I will be making a return to a defender soon as soon as I've cleared the purchase of a comp motor.

  3. Update on the charity donation.

AWDC proceeds from the day now confirmed at £1245.15

More to come from sales of event polo shirts and photo CDs

If you haven't ordered yours speak to Lucy at Challenger 4x4 on 01252 325930 or email sales@challenger4x4.com

I forgot to say thanks to Paul for the team polo shirts. They're top quality. Even though I got mine slightly more muddy than I would of liked :ph34r:

  4. D2 studs are certainly different because though the wheel spanners are both 27mm, the stud is thinner on a D2, I think they are something like 14mm not 16mm, but it isn't a normal metric thread its a funny fine metric of some sort so a normal M14 or M16 bolt is different.

However I have a feeling that the hub is a complete unit on a D2 and you can't change studs...? Will have a look when I get to work later if nobody else has come up with the answer....

Have you had chance to have a look???

    Cheers

  5. Had an excellent weekend. Well done to Neil and crew for another superb event. I think the team performed excellently (a better result than I thought we'd have). Nice to meet some other faces from the forum. A bit a baptism of fire for Top90 (even got his truck on it's side) but performed brilliantly. It's a shame your biatch didn't have more stamina.

I particularly want to see the photos of magic's truck on it's side. What a way to finish the day.

We got in at 2230 and back at work for 0600. I'm thoroughly knackered. I think I'm more suited to the drivers seat.

  6. if his driving is anything to go by it aint gona that bad

What's that supposed to mean? <_<

I think that hardest part of the day will be understanding him.

I'm going to be adopting a Southern accent this weekend to make life easier, apples and pears, dog and bone and all that. :P

On the bonus side of things he is bringing his dogs which if given the chance will lick you to death... :D

Luckily I was rescued before that happened, as I was cornered under his motor whilst trying to assist tango in a repair.

Tango's a vicious guard dog and you were lucky to escape with you life

  7. ANyone fancy offering any odds

    ;)

11-1 Pigster and Adrian won't get off the starting line until they've found someone who'll make them a full cooked breakfast with toast and coffee (They're not used to this camping lark ;) )

4-1 They will be squabbling all day. One of them will end up with a black eye.

2-1 I'll be completely cream crackered by the end of the day because I've volunteered to get in the wrong seat.

Evens - If it rains on the Sunday I'll get very scared.
