  1. IIRC just the keyway is different which could soon be cut off or the proper connector is probably only a couple of quid.
  2. You can swap the fronts on those type of switches so could get a cheaper on/off switch, one for a puma heated seat would do and is considerably cheaper. The switches in the dash on a disco 2 are the same as well so one of those could fit the bill.
  3. Massive thread revival! Sorry! Pat could you reupload the pictures of your console please. I'd saved them on an old computer with view to make a similar console but have since lost them, took me ages to find this thread!
  4. http://pdf-magazine-download.com/41619-total-off-road-august-2016.html
  5. Fair play, so the reduction in size at the fittings doesn't lead to the pedal being too slow on its return? That is all I was worried about. Looks like I've found something to add to the list for the upcoming bank holiday weekend.
  6. Mickey, is there any reason why you used adaptors for your pipe work instead of re-tapping the servo out to 1/4"? Do you get any lag in the pedal return?
  7. Definitely looks like a 110". If you compare the lashing points on the side of the tub with the one below it looks as if they have bobbed it removing the 5th lashing point on the rear. The rest of the tub looks standard length using the lashing points as reference. (Stolen from the interweb)
  8. Thanks for that HoSS. Are those items I've listed suitable for my application? One relay for one state, the second relay for the other state. I assume the telltale light (led?) will work wired directly to one of the boards outputs?
  9. Thanks for the help guys. Arduino seems the way to go, just need to work on spelling it correctly! I've got some (rather rusty) PIC programming experience, hopefully the Arduino programming is similar, I will have a look at some webpages on the subject. Guessing I'll need this relay module and one of these nanos with screw terminals to join the two?
  10. Hi guys, I'm looking to use a momentary rear fog light switch from a puma to switch the led lightbar on my defender. I could use a standard on-off switch from one of the other puma applications however I want to be able to switch between "on"-"off"-"on with high beam". As such I'm looking for some kind of module or controller which will take a pulse from the switch in the dash and swap between the three settings. Maybe swapping between "off" and "on with high beam" with a single quick push and hold for 1-2 seconds for the fully "on" setting to prevent me inadvertently switching the lamp on on the road. I then went as far as thinking that the tell-tale light on the switch could be constant on for "on with high beam", flashing on and off for "on" and just off for "off". I'm pretty sure something like this will exist or at least some relay circuit will exist with the option to program a picchip or similar but my brain is mush this week so hoping someone can point me in the right direction.
  11. I've picked up some seized vented defender calipers to recycle the spacers to convert my non-vented calipers. I've had the old ones apart and I'd like to replace the gallery seals for new ones, however they aren't the same as the ones I've seen in other threads on the subject which had a part number alongside. Can anyone identify the ones I have? The calipers are Lockheed ones from a TD5.
  12. That's something non-standard that's been added. The hole its screwed into is the live side of an extra standard maxi fuse (output side is the hole opposite). Not sure without looking if there should be something in that space as standard but I assume not. Follow the wire and see where it goes to. Maybe replace that fuse if you want to keep it too!
  13. I've heard that too Steve. Apparently it transmitted too much vibration through to the body? Since I went and checked but its took me this long to come back, I can also confirm there's a whole heap of room to fit a sticky out plug
  14. I posted these in your initial thread, please make some Due an engine service imminently as well so I'd be the ideal test candidate
  15. Just read that this morning. The link the the facebook page is interesting as well.
  16. Anything for the younger models? 1013938 Is the number for 2.4 and 2.2 defender tranny lump. Same for disco 3/4 and rangie. Edit: lr005008 for the mt82 6 speed box too
  17. I haven't been filled with the confidence that I normally gain from posting a question on here! I've fired off a few emails to some "differential shops" over in america (I wish we had places like that here). Hopefully they might be of some use to me. Seems a shame to let the thing get scrapped!
  18. How easy is it to get hold of parts for the detroit lockers? I've acquired a 30 spline locker from a Skyjack cherry picker (Dana axle I think). Not 100% sure on the reason for it heading to the scrap bin but I think it was unlocking at odd times. I've had it apart and the only thing that I can spot (no expert now!) is a bit of wear on the two main springs. Couple of crappy pictures where you can just about see the wear. Will (Muddy) has already found me the springs on ebay US but I'd still need the splined parts that the half shafts push into to change to 24 spline and also the main ring gear. Does anyone have any idea if these are available off the shelf somewhere?
  19. Excellent idea Mike. Guessing you are using a relay for the switched side?
  20. Recieved my box and terminals now. Just looking at the standard feed cable that was included with mine which is 10CSA (10mm^2) according to the Puma wiring diagram. Now the fuses in the box already add up to 400amps. How much current can a 10CSA cable take?
  21. The new mud stuff convex mirrors would be a good bet. They're fitted into the larger size mirror head.
  22. So just bought one of these boxes on the bay from a '97 MG TF. Thought I'd look under the drivers seat to see where it could bolt in etc. Low and behold the puma has the exact same fusebox under there. Great recycling by JLR. Mike, I'm going to order some of the terminals posted by zardos. If you send me your address I'll stick a bunch in the post for you. No way am I going to get through 100!
