  1. Yup, that's the extra air valve... The TPS is the one just to the left of the EAV, held in by two small bolts and a metal strip. it has a 3-way junior timer connection on it.
  2. Re-read it Nige, I think the OP has confused the TPS with the 4-wire PWM.
  3. Or, use the stronger LT230 and a 2 wheel drive conversion kit from the same company above Not that I can find it on the site, mind you... but it does exist, doesn't it ashtrans?
  4. It could of course be that your bush has worn it's sleeve, doesn't look new, is it?
  5. http://www.raf.mod.uk/history/battleofbritain70thanniversary.cfm
  6. Oh, and we have a MS/MJ forum BTW http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?showforum=36
  7. You sure you aren't looking at the idle valve? In RAVE it shows 4 wires to the idle valve, and 3 to the TPS, I have just been to the garage and confirmed that is the case on my 4.0 plenum....
  8. Dirro, even with ABS I get the Simex howling under heavy breaking, think the knobbles confuse it... BUT... back to semi-on-topic, just because you have more than the designed amount of power, it doesn't mean you have to drive like a complete tit!
  9. Guides don't fit? They are too small in diameter or....?
  10. Nothing wrong with the 3.9 plenum, it's how I run my 4.0.... You want pin numbers 1,2,3. Pin1: +ve, Red Pin2: signal, Yellow/Green Pin3: GND, Red/Brown *edit* Included the wire colours. TBH, why you need wire colours when you have pin numbers printed on the connectors I dunno.
  11. Probably dust ingress through an unsealed bell housing, that's if it is the rear crank seal of course! If it's the front one, then it's just from all the dust being kicked up, remember the bores?
  12. Difference is..... 2tons (or 2.5 in my case) of land rover will do a helluva lot more damage from 100mph than a 1 ton hatch....
  13. 2600rpm @ 70 on the V8, think the 1.4 ratio LT230 has got it just about right for on-road speeds, for off-road, there is always the brakes :)
  14. That's a handy tool, well done! I could only get it to work in IE though, FF and Opera the fields didn't fill in properly, some sort of JS error I guess, though nothing in Firebug?... Didn't even get an option to select a gearbox type.
  15. Can I ask why? Surely you knew you wouldn't see much change out of £2K to just bolt that lot together?
  16. Well, Microcat seems to list all that.... Nige, Win XP mode is a piece of cake, honestly, then use the other post on here to setup microcat up, no rs232 thingy, just use the MC launcher application.
  17. Weigh the truck, front and rear axle weights and then give Devon 4x4 a ring, they'll be able to put you right, they do know what they are doing....
  18. I may be wrong, but aren't the diamonds illegal on the road? Insa Turbo Sahara's are a very grippy tyre, a mate has them on his truck and they are only marginally less grippy than the Simex ET patterned remoulds, and not bad to drive on the road at all, I would really recommend them.
  19. Win XP mode requires no installation, just download and run....
  20. It's a piece of cake to get it running in Win 7: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/virtual-pc/download.aspx I use it for cross-system testing all the time. I also have a Vista, XP SP0, XP SP1, XP SP2, IE6 IE7 and IE7 versions.... but the XP mode one is the easiest for Nige. Having said that I have Microcat and happy to look up stuff for you Nige...
  21. So 300BHP in a RRC, what about 330BHP in a 90? Nige, you've been called up to explain yourself! I have 220-230BHP in my RRC, and find that 'enough', I can't see that adding a third as much again will make the vehicle lethal, even on the Simex... Sprintex supercharger conversions which allegedly gave 300BHP were relatively common on the RRCs, the autobox was upgraded, but the brakes etc were left alone AFAIR. As for stalling a TVR lump with an autobox, that's very unlikely, especially as you have an extra air valve wired up for most installations, yes, even with Megasquirt
  22. The 15 is the cold figure isn't it? So once even vaguely warm the oil will be a 40 (so to spec), it's just under starting conditions it may struggle...
  23. That's Thor AFAIK, they came in in 1999, didn't they? What part numbers are you after Nige?
