  1. Have two batteries, charge them in parallel, and draw for the radio off them in series..... 12V in, 24V out.... althought you will probably need to upgrade your 12V alternator -this is if you want to run them int eh truck of course! If you just want to run them on a bench then 2x12V batteries in series is fine.
  2. Now this is tempting....... A relatively stock Range/Series 3 would be alright here?
  3. It looks a pretty standard switch unit, try www.rswww.com -they normally hold just about anything electrical, failing that, try an electrical contractors locally, theny ou can pick and choose and get some advice at the same time
  4. Got a footpedal you have to hold? Or worse, a missing footpedal!
  5. I was more thinking along these lines : And: What you think
  6. Mine was a LOT worse than that, and managed to fabricate a panel -to be honest, yours looks like you should be able to remove it, de-rust it, paint and re-fit.... honestly it does NOT look bad! Mine took 2 days of fabrication to fix, one layer of the bottom metal was basically missing, and 90% of the front curved bit beneath the vents..... Needless to say it is now anti-rust primered, and lots of top coats to protect, oh, and waxoyl in the cavity behind the curved bit below the vents.... Hope that helps a bit, I unfortunately don'y have any pics of it off the vehicle
  7. Bucket + football + Land Rover kind of putting?
  8. A RRC is a good choice for a 'first' in my opinion because it still has a lot of the luxuries, and quietness of a regular car, just you can do stupid things with them as well I don't think you'd be disappointed, put it that way
  9. Cool, I'll do a drive-by one of these days
  10. DOT4 is fine in it, DOT3 is just lower specifications, DOT5 is a totally different kettle of fish.....
  11. Hour from me... sounds like fun! Where exactly are you? You got a webby yet?
  12. I had a funny moment with my insurer, I just bought a Range for £500 yet they insisted I had an alarm/immobiliser on it.................. Sometimes logic is torn up when finance is involved.
  13. Sounds like a scaffold tube....
  14. Depending on what you currently have (asuuming it is petrol form your comment) then a 5-bearing 2.25 petrol will most likely go faster in a straight line than teh diesel. But to make it more relaxed, an overdrive and 7.50x16 tyres help a lot by bringing the torque curve of the engine to a more helpful place.
