  1. Hi Al, Glad shes up and running and hope thats the end of the problems and you can get out and drive it. My 90V8 is still just an engine in a rolling chassis and its been like that for 12 months due to job losses and becoming self employed. Mark
  2. The temp sender or should I say switch is used to turn the aircon rad fans on when fitted as far as I know it has nothing to do with the engine. Is it a flapper or hotwire air flow meter. Mark
  3. I have one of the first top spec Noikia CK-600 in a 300tdi 90. Works ok but it can be slow to react to an incoming call sometimes.
  4. Have a look at this on ?bay. Not very good with the link stuf so here's the item number 230397333245 My only consern is that he has listed it as a 3.9 but from the cold start injector in the plenum chamber I would have said it was a flapper injection and only a 3.5. Mark
  5. The white connector by the relays is the diagnostic one. I would say that the black one by the vehicle one is the aircon connector as I see the green aircon relay is installed, don't know what the fuses are for mine hasn't got them. Mark
  6. The trailer light socket wiring usually run from behined the drives side rear lights
  7. From what you have listed seems ok to me and the connection between the coil neg and pin 39 of the ECU or reading the correct resistance of 6.8K ohm is ok, then it should run. Are both of the relays (Main and Fuel) ok. Are they the original ones or of the correct type. The main relay is used to turn all of the sensors ond the injectors on.
  8. Found this on my PC. Might be of use if I can upload it properly. Mark
  9. I think he is on about the wires in the connector that connects the engine EFI loom to the rest of the vehicle, the injector conections are internal to this loom. Are the EFI looms negative connection ok? Mark
  10. Hi. Is the White/Black pickup wire conected to the ignition coil negative terminal and is the resister pluged in on this wire aswell. This wire comes out of the loom by the connector for the air flow meter (AMF) It sounds like the ECU dosen't know the engine is turning over. Hope this helps Mark
  11. Hi all am doing the same but my 3.5 engine has Lambdas on it and am fitting them in to the Janspeed manifolds. Surely having them and then having a closed loop system is better than an open loop one, as the ECU can monitor what is realy going on with the fuel mix. Mark
  12. It dose sound like the govenor is stuck inside the pump, probubly from being stood for a whill with no fuel init. I f your luky it should free its self.
  13. Just out of interest and has a small relevance to this topic, my brother used to have an MGF (the one with the engine in the back) and that had electric power steering but it wasn't a rack pipes and pump but a motor mounted on the steering column. Could this be modified to put power steering on the series landys? Just a thought. Mark
  14. Ive just done the swivel bearings and railko bushes on my brother inlaws D90 and I used 1thick and I think 2thins on both sides and all seams fine, dont know how long for though he bought britpart bearings. Timkin all the way. Hope you get yours sorted. Mark
  15. If the white/black wire is connected to the coil, also cheak that the resistor that is inline with the white/black wire is still connected. Its found on the loom where the air flow meter wites com out. I had the same simptoms as you on a disco and that was the fault. Mark
  16. Hi has anyone got a good picture of a 3.5 or 3.9 engine bay. Thanks Mark
  17. Hi, if you do decide to scrap your engine Im after the tapper bolt that holds the rear lifting eye on to be cheaky.
  18. Find yourself an old sieres 3 like I did, my first year was £850 and droped every year after that. I am now and have been for 4 years able to insure a 1996 300Tdi, modified, fully comp and with protected no clames for less than £300 aged 25. Its hard and anopyed me for the first coupel of year but dose get better. My advice get something without a turbo. Mark
  19. Dose anyone know if the 14CUX was fitted to any other engine. As far as I understand it the flapper system was a BOSCH setup and fitted to lots of other engines like porsche 944.
  20. Morning all, Dose anyone know what the gap between the trigger wheel and the VR pick up should be. Thanks Mark
  21. Lovely thats all I needed to know. Thanks Ian
  22. 1996 300tdi on an N plate. Is due for an oil change and an MOT and done just over 275000 on two owners. Origonal engine and gearbox, both of which are un touched apart from a clutch I think.
