  1. The standard boost for a 300tdi is 1bar so looks like its been done.
  2. I agree. I did one not so long ago on my V8 90 Im building and after the bolts had broken off that hold it into the cast bit, its a press out and a press in. Bitch of a job.
  3. Ive taken V8i engines out of discos in the past and all of them have been seperate looms so far.
  4. Ye but dosent it do that on over run, when your givin it the beans then the inlet manifold is under 14psi of boost.
  5. My dad had his indicators go funny and it turned out to be the rear loom had chafed through were it gose into the chassis at the front under the drivers foot well.
  6. If it stuk open like you say they do, dose that mean you loose all your turbo boost pressure down the exhaust?
  7. Sorry Michele for taking your topic so far off it, so come on ppl back to turbo kits.
  8. Dont know if its been done but im sure its been spoken about and it would be a good supercharger for 1200 quid.
  9. Would a small or medium suppercharger do a better job if it would fit along with a nice free flowing exhaust you would have torque from 0 to earth spining. Mark
  10. Surely you can save the money on the blanking kit and just pull the vacume pipe off the top of the EGR unit, wont this do the same thing.
  11. The problem that I can see with that heater as nice as it is, is that it looks like it draws its air from under the bonnet and the way it controls the temperature is to shut off the water flow. This is no good on a 2.5D TD or 200tdi as these engines use the heater as the bypass during warm-up. Mark
  12. Maybe thats the way to go. Thanks
  13. Iv got one and it works well but I want to use the TD5 air cleaner box in my 90 not the original V8 one.
  14. Shame was hopping that with them both being hot wire the signals may have been the same.
  15. Hi all, dose anyone know if you can use the mass air flow meter off a TD5 on a 3.5L V8 using the Lucas 14CUX injection system insted of the 3AM one. Mark
  16. I had some PERSON never found out who put three bars of soap in my old S3 DERV, and no it wasn't the cleanest shed ever been. My 300tdi D90 had a sudden oil leak from the oil cooler pipes and I would agree with Disco_al and wash it off firs then watch with the engine running.
  17. Is that all, we had a nice V8 in the 50th didn't we.
  18. Do we know what engines we will get in this thing.
  19. I wouldn't have thought you woud have any boot pressure at tick over?
  20. Its the on they fitted to the range rover for something like one year B'reg if I remember right. Its an LT77 with a long bellhousing and the gear leavers are the correct way around to go strate into a defender, unlike the later boxes which are the same as the discos. I used this one having the long nose and not the original one to push the engine foewards like the 300Tdis, so that ther was space for the exhausts without bodgificting the footwells like so many people do and there is some where to put the air cleaner when I get that far. Mark
  21. Mines a manual which I want and it took along time to find the gearbox that I wanted. Im not a big fan of autos especially when the truck will spend most of its time on the road possing and only being a 3.5 I want all of the power I have to go to the wheels and not driving the gearbox.
  22. Tell your friends "whats the point in having a V8 and not using said loud peddle". The base for my V8 is an old B reg 2.5D, but am fitting latter push button doors so I can fit central locking and electric windows; then have total closure on the button. The new seatbox and tunnel that I have are 300Tdi so will be fitting the standared rubbers and mats. Mark
  23. I would have thort its got to help but more power has got to mean more fuel, hasn't it? I had my engine running for about 30sec on the workshop floor must be two years ago so your still further along than I am, but like you am trying for the factory fit and tidy look; things like proper fitting hoses and as I used to work for and design wiring looms so I shall make a custem one.
