  1. I'm looking for a VDO specific one Bowie. The original is calibrated for 4bar whereas my VDO gauge is 5bar. Probably doesn't make any difference but didn't want to find out the hard way, which is normal for me....
  2. Sorry I don't follow Bowie? 'scuse my ignorance
  3. And of course it's the only 'kin thread I can't find. Is there some sort of adapter available??
  4. It appears to be 1/2" UNF http://www.autoelectricalspares.co.uk/lucas-sob302-drc2479-oil-pressure-sender--switch-1377-p.asp
  5. It's about £43 plus the dreaded.. What thread is it?
  6. Just to clarify, it's to suit old style v-belt cover. Not serp. Don't know if that makes a difference to thread?
  7. Ok. After a little more searching I found a place called Merlin Motorsport selling them. https://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk/p/vdo-pressure-sender-5-bar-with-1-4npt-thread-360081029008 They do a few different threads though. Which one does the RV8 use?
  8. Cheers John. My gauge is VDO part 350-010-008K. I'll see if I can find the catalogue.
  9. Can someone tell me if there is a VDO specific oil pressure gauge sender? I tried looking at the ETB Instruments website for info but the link on their site doesn't work. Nicked the below pic from a different thread but it shows the exact same port I have on my front cover..
  10. Sounds a bit dangerous, never mind disappointing! Maybe there was something wrong with it?
  11. Could you elaborate a bit Lewis? Was it not as quick as you expected?
  12. I think manual versus auto is as personal as tyre choice etc. I prefer the gears changing when I DECIDE. Not when it decides.. That being said, if I spent a lot of time in traffic jams.............................
  13. Yup the LT230 might be agricultural but it can't half take some punishment..
  14. That's a bugger Nigel. Hope it's not as bad as you think................ But it probably is I've got an extinguisher but after your story I'm doubting it would be man enough for the job..
  15. Just want to update this. Skiffy (now renamed Essentra Components) very kindly sent me 4 free samples of the clip I need. They were sent next day delivery, well packaged - and all for free. Very impressive service, with a huge catalogue of hard to find bits.
  16. Everything Mahle is very good. Just make sure that it truly is a Mahle part your buying and not some copy..
  17. Done Hopefully hear back from them tomorrow.. Thanks for the tip John, I'd never heard of them before..
  18. Skiffy has just the thing. Part number 101 0021 002 02 only trouble is they won't do less than 250 of them which is £35. I only need 2 lol...
  19. I'm looking to fix some 21mm convoluted tubing to my galv chassis. Obviously I don't want to drill holes so I'm After something like item number 1 in the above image but to suit ~21mm rather than 13mm. Does anyone know if anything like that exists?
  20. * Mrs Doyle from father ted accent * Ahh go on, go on..
  21. Strange how there has been a lot of discussion in this thread from everyone except the guy that started it... Is this a vapour build I'm sensing??
  22. Nonsense. An R380 easily handles a standard 4.6... Unless it's driven by a club-footed pensioner...
  23. V8 or nothing.... Every time I hear a piston slapping, coal burning diseasal I need to hold my hands over my ears while shouting la la la la la...... I understand the argument for diesels re fuel returns etc, but who ever bought a defender because they are cheap to run?! If you want economy buy a Prius. If you want smiles per mile stick the v8 in and roll the windows down. Music
